There are, has been and always will be plenty of good fighters In Britain. You got to stop trying to educate people on British fighters. Greatness comes and goes and I have watched enough fights to know when I see it, and you are right, yes we do overhype fighters, but then so do fans from many countries including the States. Brook has great potential but also many question marks. A lot of those questions have not even been asked of him yet. I have long rated him but we will see.

Was at work till 10pm, so stayed away from the thread and any results before I could see the action.
Despite the rest of the action tonight, the fight of the night both for fans and the viewing audience was Coyle v Derry Matthews, and while I've slated Dirty Derry for so long here for his style, that was one hell of a punch he pulled out to grab a win. He was losing on every card, but a stunning left hook that devastated Coyle.
Anyhow, Brook did what was expected of him, and ground Carson Jones out for the win, while Selby looked good, if a little pedestrian beating that Romanian fella. Ogogo did well, and Campbell finished his fight with aplomb. Tidy night's boxing all in all, and there doesn't seem to be much more in terms of British Boxing until the Cleverly card in late August now.

Oh I agree that britain has a deep history in Boxing. They've produced some of the finest fighters in the past and will continue to do so. BUt for right now at least, Britain is sort of in the rebuilding stage imo.. Compared to the days of Calzaghe and Hatton, the British boxing scene has watered down a bit.
BTW Beans, I didnt mean it that way so dont take offense to it bro. Im only calling it as I see it.
Eddie Hearn says there will be a huge fight for Brook in September !
