The bigger the better, i use to use 18s for sparring and bag, was super fast when it came time to compete with 8oz
Most clubs now will only allow 16oz for sparring, might be lower if you are a lower weight you can always ask.
Yeah I ended up going for 16oz so I can do a bit of everything with them.

I have my hev bag at work and go through the motions each morning.
I dont like 14oz for bag work and 1 pounders are way to much. I have a pair of these,
They are 12 oz. I start with those as I tend to hit harder in the first several minutes of the work out. I then switch to straight bag glovesI also have an old pair of 14 and 16 everlast's with detached thumbs and if a buddy ever wants to hack around I'll use a pair of those and let him use the 12's.
Sent the lonsdales back wasn't really impressed with them,But yeah think i'm just gonna try and stick with 16oz for everything.
