He "fights" as many seconds a round as he needs to win it, just as Canelo tries to do. I guess if Oscar only wants to hype his man up it's understandable, as Sauls only shot in this is to really pressure and be on the attack for the entire fight. The problem is that Floyd has the better stamina here, moves so much more and Alvarez pretty well needs to be set to throw anything.

Kinda makes Oscar sound like a simpleton. Guess maybe he should have fought 26 seconds during those rounds and maybe he would have got the nod.

The only way Canelo will win is if he throws caution to the wind and fights like hell for 3 minutes every round for the first 3 rounds, because unless he knocks Floyd out by round 4 Floyd will have worked Canelo out and punch holes through his defence like Swiss cheese, then cruise to a UD win or possible late stoppage.
The thing is Floyd only needs about 30 seconds a round to make a fool of somebody. Canelo has to be assertive and take a risk, he's not going to win a decision, he has to KO Floyd. I suspect Floyd will do his thing for 30 seconds a round while Canelo is hitting air for the rest of it.
I fear the latter part of your statement may be what happens. I am not a Floyd hater, don't particularly like him but have great respect for his ability. Watching Canelo fight Trout made me doubt Canelos ability to do any, or much, damage to Floyd. You would think by the score cards Canelo dominated that fight but that was not the case. Yes, Canelo won but it was much closer than the cards. Canelo definitely fights in spurts. Canelos defense was much improved, he definitely has the power but I don't think he is slick enough to beat Floyd. I guess he is going to have to try to get on the inside and let go with those massive body shots but can it happen. Canelo is good but I think his God like status in Mexico has gone to his head a bit. I could be wrong about that but I really got that feeling watching him fight Trout. How much better is Floyd than Trout. I may be jaded as I like Trout and I don't think he got a fair shake in Texas. I think Canelo had been ordained by the judges and the only way Trout could win was with a knockout. I really don't see Floyd losing this one, perhaps he will take on the winner of Garcia v Lucas.
It's always a bit embarassing when Oscar trys to bang the drum for one of his guys, remember all his over the top, filmed pep talking with Ortiz?![]()
