With Alvarez-Mayweather, Rios-Pacquiao and Marquez-Bradley all being PPV. And all being within a 3 month time frame this is almost a guarantee to flop. I like the fight. And I'll get it. But overall, I don't see it selling well.
As good as Floyd is, he got to headline his own PPV after being a pro for nearly 10 years and in that time frame, he had to prove himself against the likes of Hernandez, Manfredy, Chico, Hernandez, Chavez , Castillo and Chop Chop which is a whole lot better than what Broner has done thus far.
Broner is still a work in progress and havent done shit to headline a PPV.. This would be more acceptable if he fought somebody better but Maidana is obviously a stepping stone and has no business being on PPV. Maidans is just a showcase fight for Broner.
The undercard better be stacked and shit. Thurman-Guerrero should be on this.
I think he might go back down to 135. Figueroa is now the interim belt holder or in layman's terms his mandatory defense. He said long before the Paulie fight that he planned to go back to 135 and lets be honest, he did go to 147 for the trinket and there really isn't anything for him in that division at the moment.
There is some historical significance in the move also. Nobody has went back down from 147 to 135 since Henry Armstrong. Maidana for his part would most likely be a lot happier to meet afterward at 140.
Now he looked pretty solid imo at 147 and I have no idea how difficult it would be for him to melt back down to 135 but the guy has played with weight his entire career. And lets face it even at 50% he would dismantle Omar.
If they put Thurman -Guerrero on it and Supposedly Figueroa's next fight is on this bill and if they price it at forty or fifty dollars they should at least break even. Other than the Floyd fight I don't see any big-selling PPV this year. I'd be surprised if Marquez-Bradley does over 300 000.
Broner-Maidana does not merit a PPV card in any way, shape or form. I wouldn't buy it.

You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
One almost got out-brawled by josesito Lopez and the other walked down a feather fisted faded champ and while being out punched (unfortunately not outgunned). I wouldn't pay for this with someone else's money.
As far as hyping this thing up on tour, I don't have hope for that either. One doesn't speak English and the other can't speak it intelligently. They better hire some writers for when these guys are at the podium because flying to Argentina in hopes of finding one of maidanas old gf's wont work. Anything short of some hopkins/ trinidad antics, or early punches thrown at the press conference wont cut it.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Lol. We get that you're a snivelling little racist twit, but why is it always just Golovkin? Nobody on this forum hypes him nearly as much as you like to imagine, and you bring him up in every single post no matter what in response to. It's quite bizarre, you should really have a word with yourself.
It's because he's an idiot.
He literally has nothing to say. He thinks the Ggg thing is smart, but it is in reality fairly idiotic. For so many reasons.
Mainly being the fact that I hate GGG.
I don't blame him though, his parents shouldn't have sold his school books for condoms so his mum could work the local red light zone, to pay for her heroin addiction.

Haha. Apparently I myself want to turn this forum into a place to bash black fighters, what he bases this on I'd love to know.
