    Unreal.

Wonder what hatton would have been like with floyd and hopkins diet and work ethic.
I've wondered the same bro. Hatton use to blow up to like 177 between camps. During that first retirement he went full blown fat to the 200 range. If the dude would have left the beer alone and taken care of himself...he probably would still be quite relevant and maybe at his real weight class.

I love Ricky but no way would he have still been able to do it. Fighters who fight like that generally have a short life span at the top. You can't go hell for leather your whole career and expect to be doing it in the latter part of your 30's. You're right though, if he'd lived the life of an athlete, he may have had a longer career.

He probably would have lasted a bit longer in this sport but his style required so much energy and punishment that I doubt he would still be a top fighter if he was still fighting today.

Work ethnic is one thing but because of his style, I think his career would have been cut short.

I don't know but I know what Floyd's was when he came in 2 pounds heavier to fight already a small guy in Marquez. God only knows how much he weighted that night he refused to weigh in on fight night.

I tell you bro, it's one thing to root for a fighter and it's another thing to be a blinded fan boy. Or I guess it's cool when Floyd does it. We'll just call that hard work and dedication.

What weight are they fighting at?

Isn't it 152? Floyd is tiny.

Yup. Coming in over the contracted limit isn't allowed but under is ok.

If you remember, floyd was noticeably sluggish when he fought oscar at 154. He was still faster than most but that was the slowest I've seen him.

If he plans to weigh in at 150, I think that's a great move.

It's funny cuz Alvarez came into camp at 165 according to reports from his own people 1 month ago... The it was reported that he was at 155 by his own people again.
    Turns out he's 166 now?

I know he's not the only one but this is a true sign that he's cutting weight to make the 154 limit. He should probably be fighting at 168 could definitely fight at 160.

Some people are complaning that he's gonna be drained. That's funny as well because vs. Trout for his 30 day weigh in he weighed 166.5 and then they are taking it further with well "What about the extra 2 pounds"
    Errrrmmm NO!
Canelos official weight vs. Trout was 153.25 do the math to get to 152.

That is an amazing photo and should be in the "Caption This" thread It looks like an episode of "Tales of the Unexpected*". The way the picture is leaning to the right on the wall, the guy with what looks like a compass or a pair of tweezers in his hand and the crazy look in his eyes, Saul's weird feet and the single low coat hook behind him. The glimpse of the carpeted room next door with the incense burner used for summoning up a soul and allowing Ginger people to go out during daylight hours. Canelo's syrup of figs that somebody has had to iron after it was accidentally sat on. How short are the other guys legs? the scales leaning to the left or levitating as Alvarez has to counter balance. It's all very strange.

    * Kind of like the British equivalent of "The Twilight Zone".

If it's even in the back of Canelos mind that he'll struggle to make the weight, or he's having to spend a good portion of his camp cutting down, he's doomed here. This is a guy who doesn't have the skillset or output to win in the first place imo, he should be spending every ounce of his energy on developing a game plan and then being in peak condition. If he's occupied with the scales even remotely this strikes me as in incredible disadvantage, he's already going into much deeper waters than he's been.

Alvarez takes a lot of time off in fights and it is obvious that this is why. He must take a lot out of himself in those final few weeks just to make weight. His modus operandi is to be bigger than you and hurt you periodically with his size. It's just not going to work against Mayweather though. I can see this being like the DLH fight. Alvarez will start sharp, but Floyd just needs to keep away while he tires and then potshot more as the rounds wear on. It's very predictable and Mayweather is a sly so and so with the CW. If I was Alvarez, I would come in at 154 and pay a penalty and try and impose the only true chance I have. Completely drying up isn't going to help. Plus Mayweather deserves that to happen to him as he likes to do that himself.

Once Canelo moves up to 160 and above, he's going to be one of those lose some/win most type of fighter so he better make the best of it at 154..

He's definitely a tweener.. getting too big for 154 but not big enough for 160. I cant picture this guy beating the likes of Golovkin and QUillin..

Saul is on course to make the contracted weight, he will come in significantly bigger than Floyd which will be an advantage the later the fight goes. Canelo is young undefeated and very hungry to be the next superstar and this fight will be passing the torch from one legend to another.

I think your alittle bit confused petal.

No one is talking about marquez here.

I mentioned if hatton had a better work ethic and diet i wondered if he would still be fighting today.

I think hatton had a style that got exposed and hatton takes alot of damage but blowing up vetween fighters cant be good for anyone.
