Early morning on the green waters of a Texas Hill Country river with my fly rod.

My son wants to fish and I do not know where he got the idea from but I do not fancy the early mornings, buying expensive rods and the long waiting. Drive me crazy.

It doesn't have to be early morning, I just like the serenity of being on the water early and alone. I have several rods but none of them were real expensive. You don't have to break the bank to do it. Can't help with the waiting part. I love being out in nature and on the water, catching and eating fish is just a real nice secondary perk.

You can fish really well with no bait on your hook. Catching something just means work later, right?, and we are avoiding work...So throw your line sans bait in the water and lay back and relax. This is ok- you are 'fishing.' If you do this without the line, you are 'loafing.'
