The catch-weight is there cuz of Floyd Mayweather. He's the one who wanted a catch-weight. Cotto is fine at 154. But not Alvarez? Come on now

Alvarez never had a problem with it though, this fight was made quickly and easily. Floyd clearly has no reason to fight above 147, both of his fights at 154 he's weighed in comfortably under that and looked slower than he ever has, what the hell is the point from his perspective.

Explain why he can fight Cotto at 154 but not Alvarez?

Maybe because he felt it didn't matter what weight he fought Cotto at, but then reconsidered after it was a much tougher fight than he expected. I'm not wearing rose glasses here or anything, just don't see any reason Floyd should give up advantages he doesn't have to.
