Default Amir Khan v Devon Alexander

Good match up. Not sure it's 100% signed but look forward to it!

Will look forward to this as Khan really has to win this one (by any means) to keep himself in the picture.

I'd imagine both guys will be looking towards Floyd after victory, which at this point in Floyd's career is fair enough (would make more sense if Khan won, I think).

I'm leaning towards a Alexander victory. Khan just can't sustain these kind of attacks he likes without getting nailed and without loosing the plot. Assuming Alexander puts his feet in forward gear, he may even grab a stoppage.

I'll be rooting for Khan though. How about you guys?

Kotelnik and to be fair, Khan was hitting a lot of glove in their fight so scorecards probably should of been closer.

I agree with everything you said except the rooting for Khan part :-)

I like Khan's skills, but he has let me down and it's hard for me to root for the guy - his interviews don't seem to indicate to me that he understands that he is not the top of the heap anymore. Rather, he is a very talented guy who has not quite lived up to his billing consistently. He shows flashes of absolute brililance, and then does things that are inexplicable given his advantages over his opponents.

I also take Alexander, only because he is the more consistent guy - which is funny, because given his skills, I would have taken Khan a few years ago. His is simply more talented than Alexander in my opinion, but Alexander is (dare I say it?) the more intelligent fighter if we look at recent history.

Ha! Well, being from England - I guess I had been sucked in to believing Khan was a national treasure following on from Athens '04 and I've been a mild fan ever since.

But your right. Although you've put it politely, Kahn is totally deluded but that's what makes him kinda captivating. Although maybe at this point in his career, that head strong approach is fairly predictable.

Devon seems to give his full attention to his corner, as much as I can't stand Kevin Cunningham. Could be way off but just seems like an enormous ego in a baseball cap spouting half-sense/ clichéd advise.

I do wonder what the game plan will be from Devon - I know he is fairly comfortable with counter-punching but given Khans reach and speed, I think he does need to press fairly consistently (I will be VERY impressed if he doesn't).

I think Alexander wins this and I'll be cheering for him. Alexander has not had things easy in his career. He's had a lot of tough fights and he's only lost to Bradley. He might not be the most exciting guy to watch but he's very good at what he does.

Khan is slipping fast. He almost managed to lose to a career lightweight journeyman last time out and Alexander is several levels better than Diaz. I'm actually hoping Khan gets KOd again. I don't think he deserves a fight against Floyd and I really hope it doesn't happen if he wins.

    Alexander lost against Matthysse too.

They're still waffling about this fight going to Dubai but it'll probably end up in the States. I really hope Khan wins, especially if the winner faces Floyd, because Alexander-Floyd is about as shit as it gets.

What would Matthysse have done to Khan?

They never have big fights in Dubai. There are guys over there who are world class bullshitters when it comes to talking about putting fights on but they never come up with the money they promised. I don't want to watch either of them fight Floyd but I'd rather see Alexander get the payday. I think Floyd fights Martinez at 155 next anyway.

I think this is a terrible style for Khan at this point. Alexander doesn't mind stinking it out, can boil down a pace, mauls inside, headbutts and is fast handed. Fast shots Khan doesn't see coming do bad things to him and I could see him really being stuck between styles and highly frustrated with a guy like Alexander.

Its a very close fight for me as Alexander has very little punching power. I think Khan will be slight fav with the bookies but I am making this a pickem fight so I will back Alexander if I get odds bigger then 5/4

Whoever wins will surely fight Brook! And the winner will most likely get floyd which I'm sure he hopes will be brook so he can take another '0'.

Ill be rooting for Khan but betting on Alexander by UD

But if my predictions are anything to go by then it will end in a Khan KO

I think they have fallen out about signing this fight so it is not certain it will happen.

I think Khan will win and if he does he will not want to face Brook or any puncher for that matter.

I think at some point to make any sort of legacy he will have to face some sort of heavy handed ranked fighter.
He needs to sign soon or inactivity will be a problem, it would not shock me if he was sat at the Garcia-Mattyysse fight and after the fight give it the big licks how he wants to fight the winner. Bad move IMO

When Khan was winning I didn't like him. I know showboating is part of the game but those little moves he did drove me nuts. Now that he is struggling I have grown to like him. Every fight he has could put him in obscurity. It must be an underdog complex I have. Of the two I actually prefer Alexander but I will pull for Khan.

Khan has a great chance against Matthysse.... of making it to the 2nd minute.

Yeah yeah the Dubai brigade. However, they have big sporting events now - Golf, Tennis, Horse Racing - and Richard Schaefer was over there waxing lyrical about the potential of holding a card there. Barry Hearn just held a Darts comp in an outdoor Tennis arena that was a success. One day a fight will happen there
