Strictly in my opinion; certain personality traits are either inherent or a product of nurture and environment quite early on in life, you only learn to manage them differently and create different circumstances to live by. I think we can all expand our awareness or increase our capacity for empathy to an extent mind you, but to truly reform who you are, hell no and who would want to.
The best examples you hear of people who "change", are usually just bearing a cross to help themselves via the same mechanism that made it necessary to change. Everyone is a product of their own experience, and people are wired to feel genuine compassion towards those they relate to. It's a shitty aspect of the human condition imo.
Why do you want to change? Whats wrong with you?
IMO anybody can do anything they want. Its all in the mindset. Just recognizing you want change means you're not a blind fool. You are aware of something wrong. However, there are moronic human beings who can't even recognize something is wrong or they flat out deny it/ even some embrace it like its the norm. I guess only people with enough brain capacity can change.
Also IMO, you can't just be one thing at all times. You gotta play your cards right. I always hated the phrase "be yourself". I think thats one of the most irresponsible advice anybody can give to anybody, especially to a youngster. There have been many occasion when if I was to be myself, I would get fired, go to jail, get shot, etc. Just play your cards right and always aware of the situation.
Now lets get back to the real topic here, what is wrong with you? What do you want to change about you?![]()
How you react to things is a lot different than who you are though, and something you absolutely can control and change.
You might change who you are to others by reacting differently, which in turn is self fulfilling. What actually causes you to react either way was always there, it's a matter of how you process things. I'm not big into these arguments, but this sort of comes down to whether you believe in free will and that jazz. People are not rational creatures, we are usually compelled to make the decisions we do, one way or another.
Yes some people can change. For others it is too frightening and they cling to old patterns of thought for comfort. Nothing is truly static though and if you continue to refuse to change life will move on and pass you by.
First of don't drink
I'm no expert but sounds like you going through typical youngblood type of phase. We all been through the same things. I control my temper by thinking about consequences. I eradicated that whole wearing your heart on your sleeve by learning to follow my brain instead of my emotion. I'm not sure how I've done that but there are times when I do slip up. About Jesus, you don't need to find him man. Sound like you know what right and wrongs are thats all there is to it.
I think you just tough on yourself, relax man quit taking things too serious. Go talk to Andre, he better at giving advice than I am.
Ha dont pass the buck to me Rainman you doing fine.
Why do you want to find Jesus? Is that the misses to be's calling?
You do know Jesus or Yeshua as he was known pointed to God, John also pointed above and at the high road. The churches driven by men all point at themselves and at the ones who pointed out God and the higher road. Middle men are cashing in.
I have a suspicion if you have somethng you have an issue with that maybe you shouldnt have issue with, then that exact thing keeps rising up to challenge your stupid fixed point of view. Eventually you move. Change is good it means you evolve mentally and spiritually. I think many believe that to be fixed is to be strong, where as that just gets worn down.
