I've turned around a little on Tyson, I hope he gets himself together. I will say this about Mike Tyson, that bad guy in Tyson will never go away. The good Tyson might be able to hold the bad Tyson in check, but he'll always be there. I hope he figures out a way to make it happen, I believe he is serious.

When Tyson was really acting mad you would assume that he was on something, when he got really big you would assume he was on something, but in looking so sharp and being really quite articulate these days, you look at him as being on the mend. I guess it isn't as simple as that and he relapses like many do. Tyson will always have his good days and his bad days, but he is so, so down on himself when he is down. You worry that one day, that side will just take over and something bad will happen. You really hope that he manages to hold it in, as Tyson really does give a lot of hope to a lot of people. He isn't in permanent trouble with the law, he is making baby steps into promotion, he is seemingly making progress with his life. I wish him nothing but the best.
When people get so high in life sometimes they feel the need to turn to other things that they think will fill the 'hole' that they are missing. Sad its happened to someone iconic in life whether they've made mistakes or not
Anyone that knows addiction and have either been addicted or knows someone close to them that was/is addicted KNOWS it is NOT an easy task to get cleaned up.
Everyone relapses at least one time. Some drive way down into the dumps when they relapse, others go back for a few times and then go back to their support network of friends, family and professionals.
Someone in Mike's life may be enabling him... which may be a cause of his behaviour.
I hope he sorts it out. From a humanity aspect of it- because I feel for the addicted.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Sure, it happens. Heck, it has happened to me a few times this year alone. For a while doing very well, and then going back to easy old habits. It's a lifetime of struggle in that regard and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. You can look at them and think 'Why don't they just pull it together', but it's complex and when other mental health considerations are at play too....I have a lot of empathy with Tyson. It's always going to be a struggle, but if he can just make the good days outweigh the bad ones it is some progress.
