Why do I think Margo when I watch Santa Cruz?

I'm not even a huge Margorito fan and I think Leo is much more a superior fighter than Antonio but I just keep thinking Margo when I watch him fight.

Tall and lanky for their respective classes but fight short, and both mexican?

Me too. Maybe it's how they throw punches. Quite similar.

It's not a bad comparison at all imo, they have similar punching form, sacrifice their height/reach and rely on output. I'd agree Santa Cruz has more tools but he's also well smaller and we don't know whether he has the same tenacity or chin etc.
