I would say Chavez Sr. Over 132k went to see him fight Haugen and that is pretty damn impressive. I don't think DLH, Morales or Barrera could do that.

In terms of popularity it has to go to Chavez Sr, highest paid well that obviously goes to DLH, Canelo although popular doesn't compare to the level of popularity of either JCC or DLH, nor does he make the money that Oscar would

My understanding is that Oscar was born, and lived his life, in California. He is not Mexican; he is an American of Mexican descent.
If you think this difference is irrelevant, then you have never been to the fights at the Olympic Auditorium when a 'Mexican' fought a 'Mexican-American.'

ah..O.K. I find it weird that Americans often find it so necessary to prefix themselves with Irish, African, Mexican, Italian e.t.c. To Europeans and people in the rest of the world it comes across as being really lame. Just because your great grandfather was Irish does not make you Irish-American. It makes you a plastic Paddy.
