Probably not, 140. Most likely he started his career clean. But I also find it very unlikely that he picked the Mosley fight to start cheating all of a sudden. Chances are he was already doing it for the Cotto fight. Forget the chin. Look how Cotto's face totally disfigured from the punches he started taking from Margarito later in the fight. And I stress the word "later", because in the beginning it was all Cotto. Yes... Cotto has been tagged and staggered. But prior to Margarito his face had never been broken up like that. Honestly? It'll never be proven one way or the other... but cheating doesn't sneak up on you all of a sudden.

Well to be fair by that point Cotto had some major scare tissue even before that fight happened. I seem to me that he bruised really bad as well and cut i seen Cotto pretty messed up at times in big fights. Clotty and Williams seem pretty much not effected really at all by Margarito and those fights were close to the Cotto fight. Rematch between them does not say much to me really Margrito by then had his shit packed by Mosley and then his eye socket crushed by Pac so he was pretty much done. Anyhow Margarito no saint or anything its hard to tell when the cheating began because he had long career.
