If you're going to "pull" you're actually better of by yourself, girls are much more likely to open a chat with ya on their own if you're by yourself than if you're in a group, at least from personal experience. Irregardless of that i say if ya wana go out by yourself do it, it can be fun as long as ya make conversation with people n don't just sit by yourself in a dark corner getting shitfaced, altho done that too, haha.
