Both have questionable chins, and both have great power that's mostly been shown against less than wonderful competition. What do you think?

Hello new person.
I agree with you.
Yes he has the same sort of ability and chin.
But you must remember there are a million fighters out there that you could compare to both fighters but lack a little piece of each.
But I see your comparison.
We should wait until Wilder is tested until we judge.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
We'll have to wait and see. So much about Wilder is unknown at this point so it's unfair to lump him as a new Shavers (as much as everyone loves Shavers, that is definitely an insult). Shavers had a proven weak chin, proven lack of heart, proven dedication/stamina issues. We'll have to wait to see how Wilder holds up against top level opposition.
More like Alex Stewart.
Was thinking that in regards to 'perfect' ko streak too. Just don't think he'll come close to climbing in with a young beast like Holyfield off a run of similar Wilder tomato cans.
Be nice though and respected, Stewart covered himself with glory in that one and put his name on the map, even in defeat. Proved he could actually box and fight too.
Black and big punchers is where the comparison ends, I hope! I have high hopes Wilder is 'The One'. You never know.
There are definitely some style comparisons especially when they get a guy in the corner and also his amateur record which only consists of about 30 fights. He also never started boxing until age 22. From what I have seen so far Shavers had better fundamentals with pretty good head movement and could bob and weave but he was shorter then most of his opponents.
Here is a short 14 minute vid. Take notice at about the 2:50 mark and his fight with Roy Williams. I want to see Wilder get some rounds against a threat and maybe see if he has the metal to come back the way Shavers did in that fight. Today that fight would have been called at least twice in Williams favour.
