faded Shane Mosley
faded Miguel Cotto
past prime Oscar de la Hoya
smaller JM Marquez, who fought at 126 into his 30s
Arturo Gatti, who in Floyd's words was "a clubfighter"
Diego Corrales, who was distracted (upcoming prison sentence)
Zab Judah, coming off a loss & who had been KOed by Tszyu
Jose Luis Castillo, who beat Floyd but was robbed
Faded Genaro Hernandez, in his last pro fight
weight-drained Saul Alvarez, who hadn't yet reached his prime

Terrific poll, very impartial, I LIKE IT!
Well, dude brought it on himself.
There's glory and then there's money.
The glory is forever, but the money always runs out....
He chose the money, good financial decision, but someday he'll be broke like so many other faded former Champions.
The difference is they fought the best when they were at their best, they didn't want the opponent to have any excuses because they had that macho bragging rights thing going, so those old Champs will always have the respect and the glory even when the money runs out. Floyd's handpicking at just the right time and stacking the deck in ridiculous manner creates excuses for literally every fight he's had since the Castillo robbery in 2002.
World-class elite fighter, but he took the easier match-ups. He robbed his fans and himself because look at what you see the rare times that he stepped in with a top prime guy like Corrales or Hatton.
I'm really amazed he's fighting Saul Alvarez at all because Floyd fighting elite, prime fighters hasn't been his MO for over 10 years. Alvarez is going to be too much for him. Bayless is the ref, he's a good ref. I can already see him waving off the fight, Floyd on the ropes wobbly with Canelo coming in for the kill, but Bayless waves off the fight before Canelo unloads the finisher.
I know The Truth about Boxing...
EDIT:
Just did the poll.
It's pretty damn sad when a guy's best performance happened all the way back in 2001. Dude was 23 years old with cajones when he fought Corrales. Corrales knew he was going to jail later, but fighters can block things out when preparing for a fight. That was a boxing clinic...
The De La Hoya fight, man, that performance by Floyd was bull$#!t...
There's so many elite prime guys he could've fought instead of that lame list he created for himself on the poll with all his careful handpicking....

Not Floyds best win but I think his most dangerous opponent was Ortiz. Big, young, strong and a southpaw. He had dropped every fighter he had faced. Not the best boxer but a dangerous fight that Mayweather didnt have to take. Pacquiao would not have been let in with him, in fact im surprised theyve gone with Rios.

Some pointless fights that Floyd had were Sharmba Mitchell who a couple of fights previous had been smashed in 2 or 3 rounds by Tszyu in the weight below.
Judah had lost his last fight and title to Baldomir..... Although Floyd did go on to beat Baldomir as well.
Floyd never used to be pay per view, people werent that interested in him. He needed the popularity of Gatti to make his first pay per view fight about 7 years after winning a world title.
Hatton

						1. Were yet to see how he performs against Alvarez.
2. Good point @erics44 the Ortiz fight had massive potential to be a banana skin and Mayweather has his quick thinking to be grateful of for keeping him safe.
3. I think the Corrales fight proved that Mayweather belongs at the top. Any subsequent fights are a prolonged continuation of that single moment.
4. Having said that, personally for me the fights in which he had been hurt or rocked (Corley, Judah, Mosley... Possibly Augustus) defines him as a fighter.

Original & Best: The Sugar Man
i think his best run was de la hoya, hatton, marquez
he had some great wins before but considering move up in weight and then the dominance against hatton and marquez of 2 extremely good fighters
i dont think since he has fought that quality of fighter, cotto perhaps but cotto was definately not at his peak
i think this alverez fight is back to that kind of quality
and i think this would be his best win

Ricky Hatton.... even though Hatton was the underdog, they expected him to pull off a shocker. He dominated Hatton from start to finish... clearly his most clear win in his entire career.
For Hatton to be dominated like that was nothing short of amazing.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!

The Hatton fight was marred by joe cortez who reffed that fight like a man with an agenda...
I was always neutral on Hatton. I didn't dislike him, I wasn't a serious fan either, but Hatton was fighting two guys in there.
Floyd deserves credit for taking that fight though because Hatton is one of the very few top guys in their prime that Floyd decided to fight. At the time, Hatton was The Man at 140.
