There's a lot of "moving parts" to Floyd's style, it's not as simple as the keyboard tacticians would like to think. It's not a matter of "ohh move forward and throw punches". I think it was unreasonable to expect Canelo to be able to solve that kind of puzzle at this stage in his career.

He shouldn't have been there in the first place.
    That much is clear.

Who should have been there then? And don't say Martinez, who is both well on his way to being shot and fights two weight divisions above Mayweather.

In hindsight we can say that, sure. I didn't hear anybody calling it a gross mismatch beforehand, though.

One of my if not my biggest pet peeves of modern day boxing. The speed in which people are written off.

Lose a fight and you are overrated. Pathetic. Drive through fucking boxing.

Good point. Still considering what this sport entails it should set itself apart from this plastic instant gratification world.

I remember Roy Jones was expressing this thought, that boxing commentators always "beat" fighters, especially after they fail. They are labeled washed up / over the hill immediately

Its much bigger then the bearded clams that are calling the fights. They are all paid for lackeys. Lucas loses the fight to Garcia and he is overrated. Its a crock of shit and the logic comes in the shape of a pretzel.

That's a good point, and we are pretty shitty as fans.

We demand that an athlete take the biggest risk every time, even if it means smaller reward, and then me crucify people when they fail.

Canelo lost by a wide margin, but I say he is an impressive, strong young guy with serious skills, and I say he beats the shit out of anyone else at that weight.

Canelo was the best fight available for PBF and I have no issue with him being in the ring. That being said the fight went about as I though except Canelo's strategy. Barring a Pernell Whitakeresque fighter suddenly appearing on the WW-MW scene PBF opponents need to stop trying to out box him. He may get old one night but until then they should watch the first half of the Cotto and DLH fights along with the first Jose Luis Castillo fight and try to drag PBF into a brawl.
