I think Floyd wouldn't want to take a chance at a nasty head butt

I'm a huge Hopkins fan but come on let's be real. 160? Mayweather woke up the day of the fight at 146. Under the welterweight limit.. 160? thats 14 pounds above his natural weight. There's weight classes for a reason. At that weight I rather have him fight Ward or Martinez.

Nonetheless good post, I'm a little shock Hopkins said that lol.. I thought him and Floyd were cool.

They probably are cool... Floyd makes more for every fight than Hopkins has his entire career, you can't blame Bernard for throwing this out there but it's totally unrealistic. I also doubt he could actually make 160, he put on genuine lean muscle going up to 75 and has been there for 5+ years now, his last couple of performances at 160 would suggest he was already draining himself a little bit. The man is 50 years old.

All this talk of Floyd fighting at 160.. it just strikes of a circus act really. But then again theres nothing else out there so its the sort of gimmick they need to sell his next few fights.

Just imagine if someone suggested the Floyd and Hopkins could ever fight today 5, or even 10 years ago though. Speaks for itself really.

Hopkins ain't made 160 since 2005. I don't give a fuck how good a shape he keeps himself in, there is no way he can make 160 at 50 years without pretty much killing himself. And he knows it. And he also knows a loss to Mayweather under those circumstances would pretty much be dismissed and wouldn't hurt legacy. Obviously I would watch the fight if it happens. But I rather it didn't happen. I rather see Mayweather fight Demetrius Hopkins instead of Bernard. It would be a more competitive fight. Not that Demetrius is that good. Cuz he's not. I just don't see Mayweather-Bernard being competitive at all

He'll at 37, even Mayweather is too old to be jumping up 14 lbs to 160.

Plus he is 37, he doesn't want to be damaging his body by jumping up in crazy weights when he has 4 fights to go.

    Why change a winning formula.

Rather go up 14 pounds than have to go down 14.

If someone wants to fight for a major belt at 160, do they have to weigh in over 154 Same question for any weights of course, it's probably a dumb one but I cant recall a fight in my lifetime where it has come up.
