The cut is bad and he does sound gutted. He should be not having dangerous sessions this close to the fight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Hang on a minute are we saying Haye isn't cut ?
I'm confused , he cant fight if he is cut can he ?
So what are we to conclude ? am I missing something.
People are not suggesting Haye has made that cut on purpose ? I mean that looks like it will open up in future fights , 6 stitches , looks a bad one to me.

Hmmm..... a bigger picture starting to emerge.
This.......
David Haye says he is 'marking time' as he waits to fight one of the Klitschkos | Sky Sports
and now the inexplicably cut during sparring and subsequent postponement of the fight.
Way to go, Haye. If you're forced to earn your way to another Klitschko.... just turn the table in your favor.
I would force Haye to fight someone of merit before giving him a shot at a Klitschko.
Contrary to what Haye thinks, he doesn't call the shots in the HW division.

The winner of the fight was probably guaranteed a fight with Vitali. If Haye got a bad cut then he got a bad cut, what difference does it make what his name is? If he went a little hard in sparring and got clipped well that just shows us how serious he was in his prep.
Array
Precisely. The winner of the fight was probably guaranteed a shot. Not the one who had been clamoring for it since Day One, and publicly called this postponed fight "marking time." Let's see what Haye says now. If he goes back to crowing about getting a shot at Vitali, he proves to be the buffoon many of us already think he is. If anything, Fury should get a "Klitschko shot" before Haye does.

Haye has been waiting Vitali out and there is little doubt in my mind but he knows even a celebrity boxer like himself would have to do something to stay in line and that was pounding the piss out of that Carnera remake. I just dont see the con job here. I mean Fury might get the Vitali fight now.

It's gotta be frustrating as hell for Fury right about now. Like him or not, he's there ready to go. If he's gonna flop or get exposed, let it be in the ring. I don't particularly like his fighting style... but of the two fighters scheduled to fight next week, Fury's the one ready to lace up the gloves.
No, Haye didn't cut himself... and no, probably neither deserves a title shot right now. But Haye's shennanigans, from "Toe-gate", to getting himself stupidly slashed just before a big fight.... have become a bit much. Sparring injuries occur all the time. But they're usually a bit easier to understand in nature. A gash like that points to carelessness, and thereby a lack of respect for his fans.
Let's see what Haye does now... and what he thinks he's entitled to.
i think it happened when he was at the spa having eyebrows done.
he made it through his brazilian, then they did the chest and back. finally, moving on the the monobrow, he flinched as the clippers jammed up and he ran his face onto the shears.

shame, I don't think it was planed and the optimist in me is please that his toe seems to have held up OK![]()

Pulled out of last fight and now this one. Haye is a complete joke who is wasting everyones time and careers.
Next month he will be fighting harrison again.
Array
Fury should fight arreola now.
Al, you are naive. When you are talking millions at stake of course someone will cut themselves or intentionally spar stupidly reckless so close to a big fight.
If he lost to Fury he's finished and no retirement fight with a Klitschko.
Hell! I could imagine you and vendettos self harming just because Haye lost to Fury
This saves you some time and money on counselling![]()

I'm not sure what Haye would have to gain by fabricating this. He was responsible for sky shelving PPV with some piss poor fights against Valuev, Audley and Wlad, he's backed out of fights before - admittedly for understandable reasons, but it's still going to piss people off that buy tickets/arrange travel to his fights - against Wlad and Charr. Pulling out of a fight now, a week before it's scheduled to happen, and for the second time in 6 months, could well be the straw that breaks the camel's back for the fans that buy tickets to the fights and sky who invest money in showing them. I honestly can't see any upside to faking this injury unless a deal is in place to fight Vitali. It's probably a bit reckless to pick up a sparring injury like this a week out when most people would be tapering their training down but I don't doubt it's legitimacy cos there really isn't any benefit to pulling out for Haye.
