Personally I'm a big bourbon snob. I love the stuff and nothing but ice goes with my bourbon. That being said you don't just wake up one day and start really enjoying top shelf liquor w/no mixers. If you are interested in trying some good bourbons that won't break the bank I'd go with Weller (sweeter than most bourbons), Maker's Mark (good all around) or 1792 Ridgemont Reserve (lots of body). Lots of people rave about Bookers, Bakers and Pappy Van Winkles. I've tried them all and while they are good I just don't think they are worth that much more money.
