Witter has his fans - however his spat his hatton did him no favours.

He can be an arrogant kid and likes to showboat around, but his style is also very slick, the quick counter punching, switching stance when its effective and throwing punches from all angles wins him fans as does his impressive KO record.

However Angel Eyes is right recently he has been sub par, he was reasonable lucky to get the nod against kotelnik, despite dropping n'dou twice he then let him come right back into the fight and the later half of that bout was painful to watch, meanwhile the colin lynes affair was truely dreadful. For these reasons his popularity has been on the wain.

Many people thought a couple of years ago when witter was what looked like his prime and before hatton went near tyszu that witter would have the edge, however the trash talking and hatton's huge fanbase coupled with the fight never happening and witter dumping warren to move to hennessey ensured witter came off far far worse and is now disliked by many.

I wouldnt say that other than yorkshire he cant sell tickets, its just he is intensly hated in manchester which gives the impression he doesnt ave fans outside bradford.

Personally i think a lot rests on this fight, he wins a legit world title and finally lines up hatton (though prob too late) and if he beats corely in style and proves he's not shot then he'll win fans as well. after all he has been recognized by Europe as their 'best' champion.

I too am surprised at how little corley is getting, but then again he has lost a few of late and wont sell tickets in england, meanwhile as we've established witter isnt exactly drawing in hatton esq crowds.

I hope to see Junior win and get the big money shot he deserves but i think his chance has come to late to make a serious impression on the likes of cotto, hatton, mayweather + margarito.
