i agree they were all idiots and I could never see anything good about jeff lacy---just like lamon brewster---a lucky left hook and all of america is sucking his cock.

The most overrated fighter of all time is Rocky Marciano. By a country mile.
An old Calzaghe beat an old Jones but Jones wasnt finished. He did have some wins after this. He beat Trinidad and Sheika. Calzaghe was 36Jones would have always struggled with that workrate and fearless style.
He beat Hopkins who went on to beat Pavlik, Pascal and Cloud. His dominance over Hopkins was proven by Hopkins crawling round on the floor looking for respite.
How much money did he make over his career?

Lol.I'd say he's one of the most underrated of all time.Joe Calzaghe is the most overrated fighter of all time!
I don't think he overrated or underrated, I think he a highly regarded, retired boxer who beat some of the best. Anyone who thinks he's overrated should look at his boxing record.
Lacy was overrated but Hopkins--I don't really care for the guy-- is still outsmarting younger fighters and he was not able to do that against Calzaghe.
If Calzaghe had a big punch to go with his other skills he would be a legend.
Winning the 168 World Title in 1997, Calzaghe DID have a big punch back then.If Calzaghe had a big punch to go with his other skills he would be a legend.
At the time, Calzaghe was no volume puncher; he knocked peoples' brains out, but then his hands went bad on him, and he was forced to change up his game.
It's a credit and testament to his quality as a world-class fighter that he was able to totally change up his style and still compete at the top levels of a world sport. How many other fighters could do that?
Douchebags like kellerman were acting like Lacy was practically the uncrowned Champ in 2006, and all that remained was the novelty of making it official by knocking over Joe. I was certain Calzaghe would easily out-box him, but I had no idea it would be such a brutal, 1-sided beatdown.
Calzaghe was one of the best of the era circa late 90s to late 2000s.
Joe Calzaghe is underrated.
If he were Lionel Jones from Philadelphia USA and had exactly the same record, the people who bash and discredit him would acknowledge he's an ATG boxer.
Man brock you going tell me you think Calzaghe overrated and then tell me how great the rock is when he is clearly the most overrated man in history hw boxing. Anyhow Calzaghe far from overrated, he beat Hopkins, Kessler, Eubank, Jones and Bika which is a good list and was champ for 10 years. People say Jones and Hopkins were old but not like Calzaghe was prime at 36 years of age. As for Pavlik and Froch they called out Calzaghe when he was retired and could not even beat his left overs.
..42 and 0, 32 KO's...you girls are just goin to have to get over it...Roy "no chin" Jones and "Soapy Hopkins waited till Joe was over the hill, made him move up to 175 and still couldn't beat him....get outta here you shower of nancyboys..

*1st of all..Cal beat Hopkins... there's no doubt... , and if memory serves me, Cal doubled Hops punches landed...
*most over-rated... roid Jones. off the juice, he's no better than a btter than average fighter.
*most under rated: Calzaghi...NEVER... and i'll say it again, NEVER, has there ever been a fighter, a world champ, an undefeated fighter of more than 25 fights ,that ever went into each fight as the underdog. every major fight he fought, he was expected to lose... and he won. aot of haters out there.

I was a big hater of JC at one stage but he is a fantastic boxer.
On this occasion I cant agree with everything Ross has said above as a prime RJ is a different league to any boxer on earth.
JC vs hopkins was close and only got the decision due to the white boy comment which made them both alot more money.
I think if your white and have alittle bit of italian in you as a boxer the public will always tend to blow things up a bit.
In JC case he fought and beat 46 opponents of various different styles just like mayweather is doing.
JC had alot of phantom injuries that seem to appear and disappear in demand but you name me a fighter that hasnt chose a to fight a boxer with less risk but more money.
JC never seems to get mentioned in the pound 4 pound stakes but he is right up there and i would have loved to have seen how he would have faired against a prime andre ward.
JC deserves the respect of all boxing fans and his workrate would give floyd mayweather or any other hall of famer serious problems in a same weight situation.
Carl froch is another fave of mine but theres a way to beat him and i dont know whether he would beat JC
