Danny Williams has pulled out of his British heavyweight challenge against Scott Gammer, scheduled for the Afan Lido, Port Talbot on 13 October.
Former holder Williams, a Muslim, has withdrawn because the date coincides with Ramadan, claiming that he would not be in a fit condition to box.
The show will go ahead, with London's Micky Steeds replacing Williams.
Promoter Paul Boyce still hopes to stage a fight between Gammer and Williams at a later date.
Gammer, 29, who claimed the vacant crown when he halted former victim Mark Krence at Carmarthen Showground in June.
Southern Area champion Steeds, a 22-year-old prospect from the Isle of Dogs, dropped a six-round points decision to Gammer in Brighton 18 months ago, but that remains his only loss in nine fights.
Gammer has 16 wins (9 KOs) and one draw to his name since turning professional in 2002.
I really don't see how he could be in any worse shape than his last 3 or 4 efforts![]()
