Alvarez is too big for Cotto but it would be a cracking fight. Mexico angainst Puerto Rico and an absolute war. Cotto is a free agent too so they can make it easily. It's the logical next fight for both of them unless Alvarez's people want a tuneup/comeback before it happens.

They wanted that fight for awhile. But Cotto turned it down. No way he can turned it down now

Cotto has wanted the Alvarez fight since he lost to Mayweather. He's only got a few fights left at the end of a great career and he wanted a tuneup against Trout and then Alvarez. He lost the tuneup. And he knew he was the underdog against Alvarez but would still have taken the fight if he'd beaten Trout. He's after making the most money he can before he retires.

If Alvarez's people are willing to make the Cotto fight now instead of having a Rodriguez-like confidence builder first then Cotto will happily sign up for it.

That was the 2nd time. They first looked for Cotto after beating Gomez. But Cotto who had said he would never fight Margarito again decided to fight Margarito. Alvarez fought Cintron instead. But what's done is done. Time for them to fight now

Oh fuck!! It's even worse than I thought.

Tell me.... pray tell..... WHO the fuck was Canelo after beating Gomez?
    Nobody.
He had STILL to fight a credible opponent.

That's why you got no credibility here. A Puerto Rican fighter does something..... it's bad. A Mexican does the same thing..... it's ok. It's so blatantly obvious, it's comical. What a fucking moron.

Yet another nugget of wisdom from your Neanderthal brain, dumbass.

Canelo wanted Cotto after beating the "great" Alfonso Gomez....... so Cotto is supposed to drop everything to accomodate Ginger Boy. Do you even HEAR yourself talk... or read what you write??

You really don't understand how boxing works do you? Of course not. Money runs boxing. Alvarez as much you fucking hate it brings in money. Cotto brings in money. Put it together and it comes out to lots of money. God damn it. I actually feel myself get dumber and dumber every time I address your retarded ass. This shouldn't be that hard to understand.

OK, then. We both know Cotto isn't scared of fighting anybody, it's all about the benjamins.

You've forgotten more about boxing than I know. You should use all that knowledge to add to this board instead of trolling susceptible people on here to get reactions.

Probably the fight happens now anyway. Unless Alvarez chickens out and wants a tuneup first.

Quit your idiotic double standards. Canelo "wanted" Cotto when he had nothing to offer but a bloated record. He wanted Cotto after he (Canelo) beat Josesito. Who had Canelo beaten up to then? How did Canelo merit a fight vs. the future Hall of Famer Cotto, with 100 times the resume Canelo had/has?

The up and coming challenger doesn't set the rules or conditions. The veteran who has earned his stripes does. You know that. Well... maybe I'm giving you too much credit. The fight wasn't economically viable until Canelo beat or at least fought some credible opposition. He beat Trout.... fine. That was a good fight for Canelo. Then he got shut out by Floyd 10 times worse than Miguel ever did.

Still.... the economics are there now. NOW it's worth Miguel's while to fight Canelo. Not before. Of course, if the situations were reversed (Canelo was the veteran, future HOF'er, and Cotto was the up and coming young fighter)..... you'd be saying exactly what I'm saying.

THAT'S why it stinks of double standard.
But go ahead....... start with the insults.
It's the only goddam thing you know how to do.

Do me a favor. If you got nothing productive to say, STFU.

Alvarez has had a big following for years already. The fight would of made big money. If you think otherwise than you really are a bigger idiot than I thought you were. And believe me when I tell you, you have no fucking idea how big of an idiot I already think you are

Nothing to offer? Nothing but lots of cash. But who the fuck wants that, right?

Canelo had a big following already because he had "earned it".... right?

If you believe that, I've got some beachfront property in Nebraska I'd like to show you.
BTW, Nebraska is a state of the U.S., in case you didn't get that far in school.

Canelo was fabricated from the very beginning. Even Chavez Sr. has said so in interviews.

But enough of rubbing your face in the shit.... AGAIN.

What's important here is that you somehow think that because Canelo is Mexican, he can impose his conditions on a veteran like Cotto.

You're so mentally fucked up.... I actually feel sorry for you.
Get off the crack, kid. It's killing your 3 brain cells.

I want you to tell the whole forum how Canelo had "earned" the right to demand a fight with Cotto after beating the mighty Alfonso Gomez. Go ahead..... I'll wait.
