As for Calzaghe, not really feeling it but whatever. He's barely gets in I guess kinda like Cotto..
and he has exactly what to do with this thread?! well on that same note anywho, if Cotto "barely" gets in, Margarito definitely never gets in haha
Cotto and Margarito are borderline... just barrrrely by a pin..

when the word borderline and Margarito are in the same sentence it's not in reference to him getting in the HOF, cause he's no where near the HOF

Cotto has wins over the likes of Bazan, Maussa, N'dou, Bailey, Corley, Torres, Branco, Malignaggi, Quintana, Judah, Mosley, Clottey, Mayorga, and Margarito on his record

    that's a HOF line up

Margarito is close to borderline..... in the same sense that Tyson Fury, his stablemate Brandon Rios, or our own Finito's posting is for that matter. Insert your adjective.

Anyone who doesn't think Cotto had a much more impressive career is being a troll.

As for the thread, these three are clearly all deserving first ballot guys. Would be more interested in hearing who else is in or who might not be still from some years ago. Is there a deadline on how long since a fighter retired they can be inducted?

they have to be retired for 5 yrs, hence why both Morales and Barrera still haven't been inducted, if not they'd already be in

Yea but I mean the other way. Say they have been retired much longer, are they always still eligible? Just strikes me on any given year they may have more deserving guys from years ago who were overlooked, but I don't know enough about it.

There is no statute of limitations per say but many who deserved to be in by now will not get in and 3 new names are added to the list each year to replace those that get in. They should change the modern day beginning at 1943 to 1970 or something. Some guys have been ignored for decades. Hell even Eubank and Benn have been eligible for over a 10 years and guys like Pintor and Hernandez more the 15.

Ricky Hatton all the way, there is a brave fighter who traveled and fought the best. Will always love and respect Ricky Hatton. A true fighter, brave and willing to expand his horizons.

Wow lol..u really gonna reach for bazan, maussa, dou, bailey, torres, branco, branco? Haha those guys were journeymen and fringe contenders.

He got a gift over clottey and mosley and mayorga were shot dude....

Cotto never beat a great fighter in their prime.. fact like I said, he's a borderline hofer..

so you're saying that Margarito got knocked the fuck out by a shot Mosley? hahaha hmm dude you should think before you speak

Bazan was a good fighter, Maussa was awkward and went on to knock Harris the fuck out and this was when Harris was still relevant and that was for the WBA title, N'Dou went on to win the IBF title and was robbed against Malignaggi and 6 yrs later Canelo still felt he was a decent opponent to go after at jr middleweight , Bailey is a former 2 division champion (WBO at 140 and IBF at 147) was one of the biggest punchers in any division and just upset then undefeated prospect Mike Jones last year losing his title by decision to Alexander, Cotto took him out in 6, Torres was a huge puncher and went on to win the WBO title and get a huge KO win over Holt and as for Branco, his first loss was to Gatti, and Cotto is the only guy to stop him, and he did so by TKO by way of FRACTURED FUCKING ARM

as for the Clottey fight, of course you're gonna say any close fight Cotto was in is gonna go the other way, why? cause you're still crying about Cotto retiring your man crush, and again like I said, if you consider Cotto borderline, then there's no way in hell using your own logic that Manos de Lleso, Margacheato gets in....period

and word to the wise, learn to stay on fucking topic, this thread is about DLH, Trinidad, and Calzaghe getting into the HOF, not your petty little butt hurt whining

He has some points on Cotto he will get in barley but you could say he lost to a older not shot Mosley he was 36 that fight was close and the Clottey fight was really close as well. Margarito not going in the hall no shit he lost most of his big fights and the cheating debacle kinda outs him doesn't have the wins either. Trindad although lost against elite in lopsided decision and then got a gift he got enough good wins and weight division under his belt. Oscar although lost big fights as well he is champ in many divisions and his resume i feel is the best out of all the fighters on the list all should be in though.

Lets all keep in mind that the only criteria the HOF seems to have is that there is no criteria. At times it has seemed all you needed was a belt and at other times tin collecting had nothing to do with it. What they should do at least is up the year in which the modern era starts. 70 years is a bit much. Countless fighters have either been ignored or passed over since 1943.

And based on some standards today or what ones are placed on fighters by the fickle fans half of that hall from pioneers forward would be emptied out.

Its the Hall of Fame not the Hall of Perfection.

IMO it should be based on their REAL resume, or a significant impact in the sport be it a devastating upset or specific fight, for example a Fight of the Decade type fight like Gatti/Ward, but agree that just picking up meaningless trinkets shouldn't get you in
