Walmart activism. The fossil fuel war ends with the supply. Same with drugs. It remains to be seen whether we witness either.

Watson and Sea shepherd, gotta love that action its for real; now that can be seen as piracy of sorts.

But Green peace? Like you say, they are far from it, even lame.

Sounds like this piracy action is a legal manipulation from business insiders to drain Greenpeace funds so the same big business can go onto plunder natural reserves unheeded. I bet down the track the lawyers, politicians police etc that keep Greenpeace off their backs will get their big kick backs or future funding taken care of.

Gazprom are one of the largest companies in the world. Greenpeace foundation have done nothing to highlight the problems associated with drilling in the Arctic. I am not a member of either organisation, what you would call the multi national or the original Vancouver based charity. What Russia is doing in bastardising a law for piracy that does not apply here is wrong though. Imprisoning people on behalf of a company is what it is and it took me no time to sign to say I think such behaviour is wrong. Even Putin admitted it was not piracy and as usual many westerners turn away and avert their gaze as Russia does as it pleases.

Drilling for Oil in the Arctic is dangerous, expensive and creates huge risk to wildllife many of which migrate there. In ice and with little hope of a rational and quality response a spill would be disastrous. I don't think risking imprisonment for your beliefs can fairly be called lame, whoever you work/volunteer for. They have created awareness and for that I am grateful.

Here's the reality, though: people, in general, are lazy. Only a small minority will dig deeper into a story.

Just about every article on this situation talks about the act and the consequences. People are told that some activists tried to storm a rig, got arrested for piracy, and are now being refused bail. Only a small blip of these articles (and a lot of times, not even a blip) actually address the actual issues and grievances Greenpeace has.

This is why I hate their methods.

Oh I should read more before throwing in my two bobs worth then.
Never thought Green peace had the balls for such action .

Hand em over to NV Semin and his righteous brother hood of Russian politicians and their just Christian legal system then.

That's called "Iceman vs Maverick" strategy

When certain people force fear by making others believe something or somebody is "unsafe", and then that they can provide a way out. In reality, these certain people do not care at all actually, they only want control and its benefits. Watched TOP GUN? "I do not like you, because you are dangerous". Greenpeace using the same trick against Gazprom. US government using the same trick with terrorists to force their policy world wide. Russia uses it in certain areas too. That's politics.

P.S. How can a jew be so naive, btw?
