1, I think Mundine is more relevant in his head than he actually really is. The poor state of Australian boxing might also have something to do with it

    2, It couldn't. It's why he left

3, He had a feeling they were bullshitting and couldn't really pay him. Looks like he was right

Mundine is a PPV fighter in Aus, that's where the 7 figures come from, remember he was a Rugby star before crossing over to boxing. This fight with Mosley clearly didn't sell though.

Mosley got $300,000 upfront which he gets to keep. Considering he was offered $250,000 to fight Ortiz before taking the Mundine fight, that's what I call a result. He didn't even have to throw a punch.

Just heard about this, what a shady business boxing is. If Mosley was guaranteed the amount up front and didn't get it he couldn't have had many other options, but why on earth did this all not come about until now? The promoter(s) must have either been praying that half the seats would sell out days before the fight, or that Mosley would fight even though his purse was withheld, and either is ridiculous.
Kind of funny that the end result is more satisfying for all though. Mosley gets a nice little chunk of cash for doing nothing, the promoters lose their money, and we don't have to see a shot hall of famer either struggle to beat Mundine or lose to the cunt.

Just odd. Tarver and Jones got paid w/o issues.

They only sold 1500 tickets. The PPV projections were abysmal. The promoter didn't even have the 300K in the first place, Jeff Fenech put that up for some reason. There was no way he was going to see the money so he did the sensible thing.

Seeing reports that Main events offered Shane another 500 k to save the fight and he asked for the cheque. Just a strange series of events.

Anthony Mundine and his team plan to follow Shane Mosley to the US in hopes of rescheduling the flight. “The fight is off for now, but it could be rescheduled. that’s what we’re working on,” Mundine said during a hastily called news conference at the Tony Mundine Gym in Sydney, Australia.

Meanwhile, Shane Mosley and his team are currently over the Pacific Ocean on Quantas flight 107. The plane is expected to arrive at LAX at around 6:45AM Wednesday morning.

Despite not fighting, Mosley will pocket $300,000, which was paid in advance per the contract and was nonrefundable. He was due the balance of $700,000 before the fight, which promoter Wlad Warton was unable to produce.

Boxing Hall of Famer and legendary Australian world champion Jeff Fenech stated that he personally put up the money to get Mosley to fight in Australia. “I gave him $460,000,” Fenech told AAP. “I certainly wouldn’t have done that if I thought the fight wasn’t going to go ahead because my guarantee was that when the fight went ahead, (with) the pay-per-view money and the pub and club money that I’d be paid back, but now it doesn’t look like it….Vlad Warton told me he needed $US300,000 as a start to getting here, then another $US100,000 for all his expenses, and a little more. So I accommodated for all that, and now they’ve gone home so I’m really left with nothing. It’s going to be a little bit tough for a while.”
Jeff got bent over the park bench and probably never got kissed first. Shane looks like a common criminal. An elaborate con-job.

    Hahaha! Well said.

Mundine really is a cunt isn't he?

Laughable that Mosley is in the wrong.

Danny Williams-Mike Tyson. Williams purse is $250,000. The night of the fight, whilst getting gloved up, he's told the promoter has gone bust, he's now getting $65,000 take it or leave it
