it makes sense for both of them at this point in their careers. for one, this fight will still make a ton of money which will be hard to walk away from. but relating to their careers, pac doesnt have too much to lose. he is already seen as over the hill. if he loses, pac fans will still say that he would have beaten mayweather a few years before. mayweather on the other hand gets to say that he beat pac and that he is the better fighter. mayweather definitely has more to lose at this point in his career though by taking this fight.

Frankly this fight is about 4 years past its' due date. Yeah it sounds like Pac needs the money it will pay, but then again so does Mayweather I am sure. I don't know why these fighters who make so much money can't get their act together with a good accountant and plan for their retirement days. Just to give you an idea what these guys take home after taxes and such. Going by when Pac fought in the USA, say he signed for a 20 million dollar purse here are the deductions from the purse: Bob Arum takes about 17 percent of the purse as a promoter's fee which would be $3.4 million. The boxing groups have a 5 percent fee so Pac pays whichever one is sanctioning the bout $1 million. He pays a roughly 40 percent tax to Uncle Sam which which would be $8 million. His trainer he pays about $1 million to. Say travel expenses and training expenses are around $200,000 (just a guess) and the total deductions come to $13.6 million leaving Pac with $6.4 million, even less depending on whatever the taxes he may have to pay to his home country. He should be investing most of that into something that is secure and not living like there is no tomorrow. Same with Mayweather, who has had some issues with the IRS over back taxes in the past and may have motivated his coming out of retirement after calling it quits several years back. Not trying to insult either man on their money issues. But many people, actors, celebrities, athletes, lottery winners,et cetera who never had millions growing up seem to have issues on how to hold on to it when it does come their way. this is true but mayweather's promotions is slowly growing. i truly think that it will get big once mayweathers is done with boxing and focusing on it so i dont doubt that mayweather will be fine with money for the rest of his life even with his back taxes.

im not sure about pac. i guess his political career will pay some but nowhere near what he is getting from boxing. the difference though is that in the phillipines, a few millions dollars goes way further than in the US.
