Number one, each fighters second should be present when the opposing fighter is being gloved along with a commision staffer. Number two I always asked te ref to feel the opposing fighters gloves prior to the bell.
During a fight water can be added to the hands to assist a plaster type mix to form and thats when your outside the ring people come into effect. When I could I would have people watching our opponents corner prepare for the rest bell and watch their actions during the rest. Other than that I can't think of what else can be done. A fighter can certainly tell if the punch "gain impact" during a fight and again the ref can inspect the glove at any time. Ray.
