Do you believe in God?

The world seems a little to complex to me and languages etc seem so designed and complex outside of biology or chemistry. I certainly dont believe in any concept of a God brought forward by any religion.The entire ideal seems pointless and reduces God to a reflection of us. I do think there is something though.

I was raised in a Catholic home but I was never into it. Everybody in my family were always deep into religion except for me, total opposite.. as im getting older, im starting to think maybe I need a stronger faith, maybe I need to do more positive things in life.

How many of you believe in God and does praying work?

Yes and yes. I am also Catholic. My faith is lacking lately due to some hopeless feelings I have been experiencing but in the past I have been very faithful and active in the church.

you, guys, are practicing the wrong principle. "Boast no of your love to the LORD, but his love for you". That's why you are suffering from the lack of faith. Notice, that it has nothing to do with formal "religion": how often you go to church or even read bible to a certain degree.
Basically, in your relationship with God you are relying on your flesh and fleshly efforts, which fundamentally wrong. You gotta be confident that God is faithfull to his promises in the first place, not that you are faithfull, especially when things get tough or you fail = sin. This is what would make a difference in your life.

I am skipping a very important question why would God love you unconditionally If you do not know why, at a certain point of your struggle you may start doubting this.

If you are going to be scientific, then you don't say that there is no God, but the odds of there being a God in any way of the sort described by The Bible is really tiny and smaller than Nonito Donaire (someone so small that you cannot see him beyond 10 yards).

There is no overseer of man and everything that we are has been more than adequately described by science which uses evidence and not merely the proclamations of a bunch of men from 1900 years ago.

I don't believe in God, I never have. If it isn't there then it isn't there and there has been nothing to persuade me otherwise. If you are going to claim something exists, then you have to offer some kind of evidence and there is NO evidence of an intelligent maker or a Holy protector of the Jewish people. If there is a God then he has been against the Jews since their inception and has found countless ways to take their lives. Like lemmings they keep on going back to the cliff, or is it a wall? Lemmings and cliffs, Jews and walls. All the same, and nothing to support their weird gyrations and kissing of a silly wall. All organised religions are equally daft in that respect.

It seems that some do have an intrinsic desire to believe, but many more are also brainwashed from childbirth, which is child torture. There is nothing loving or good in the pinch faced sour mean bitch that raises a child to avoid sin whilst using hell as the justification. It's evil. Then they use the God ideal to justify genocide and murder, 'Our God' as opposed to the Godless.

Forget the fact that the Godless knew the harmony of the land, the Godhaves know only consumption and greed. After all God made the earth for them, and so they are justified in pillaging it until the bitter end.

That doesnt matter because matter is indestructible.

I'm all for matter. I love a bit of matter. I believe in matter as matter is something we can quantify or at least predict if it isn't quite there. I'm a big fan of matter and I am all for people being told that matter exists.

I think the flesh and my mind are what they are. The flesh will age, the thoughts will ebb and flow and one day it will end, and I don't believe in anything more. I don't mind that in the slightest though. It's a good thing in some ways as assuming that it is finite means that you have to make do with what you have and do what you can with it. Nobody has a right to make false claims on immortality, it is selfish to even assume it.

I also take issue with the notion of sin. Sin assumes that God has been granted the right to decide what is right and wrong and I find that repugnant. If there is next to zero evidence of the existence of God, then clearly God can not be defining what a sin is. A sin is then merely the judgement of a bunch of men posing as the spokepeople of God. Following obvious logic, that is then nothing to do with sin.

I think we are raised in society and from teachings and experience largely develop our sense of morality. At 3 children are punching each other in the face and pulling hair. Most of us grow out of this through education, parenting and eventual legal protection. Homosexuality is a sin in The Bible, it was illegal until the 1960's in the UK. Now for 2000 years homosexuality was supposedly a sin, for significant stretches of time also illegal, but today few would argue that it is a sin, immoral, or criminal.

People have a general sense of right and wrong and though sexuality is innate, how you treat those people is dictated through societal norms. I suppose if there is a God, then he will have to admit that he was horribly primitive and that mankind today has gone far beyond any wisdom he ever ever had (only in some ways though). God like notions of sin and the accompanying death by stoning only occur in the most savage countries today.

I suppose what I am saying is that God has nothing to do with right and wrong. It is a human judgement and nothing to do with anything else.
