I can't see Tyson getting raped somehow. If nothing else he'd have been kept a seriously close eye on by the staff. We know for a fact he got somebody pregnant in prison so he was probably treated like a celebrity in there.

No convicted rapist no matter who they are is gonna be treated like a celeb especially by other inmates and def not by the screws, I've not read the book yet and regardless of the comments he makes about that period I remember that interview so well as it was the first ever time id seen Tyson as a human being , close to tears totally broken and actually showing some emotion...I think it was Harry Carpenter as it goes who interviewed him.
Thats why it sticks in my mind.
Ill see if I can find it anywhere and post it up then draw your own conclusion ;-)

I remember the interview you're on about. I'm pretty sure he saw the inhuman stuff being done to other people. I don't think for a minute that anything got done to him. Maybe a celebrity is the wrong word but he definitely would have been a special case in prison.

He went to a youth center not a full blown prison, Tyson would've been older than most everyone in the place and obviously got special treatment. Odd that anyone would even care to speculate he was raped in the first place, let alone by adamant about it. I'm sure there were loads of other 20 year olds up to the task in there

Theres no way he spent his entire prison sentence 100% seperated from other inmates.
He'd have had a HUGE target on him the moment he walked in their by bullies, rapists etc.

There are some strong clues that he was def in that kinda environment just by quotes he made post jail, whether he was raped only he knows but shit happens in prisons all the time even to high profile inmates.
I dont believe for a second that he was the Big man on the inside in a world full of convicted murderers with absolutely nothing to lose, so agree as much as possible and for that reason alone they would have tried to keep him away from the predators but anyone can be got at in Prison.
Im gonna check his first few fights 'post Jail' and see if he walks any different. :-)
