If his balance looked better then I don't even want to know how bad it's been, last time I saw him was the Lebedev affair and while he didn't throw anything even then he looked better on his feet with a probable injury. He is all over the place every time he so much as blocks a punch or throws anything, he is practically knocking himself down out there. He would have absolutely no chance of beating anyone half decent over even 8 rounds today, and even Tarver may actually be the first man to stop Toney, which would be sad to see. He needs to retire badly, there is no such thing as a tune up for somebody in his condition.

Lebedev saw him injured in the second round or thereabout. Any normal fighter would have called it quits then. Imagine if Tyson had completed the fight against Danny Williams and of course Lebedev is far better than Danny Williams. Against Lucas Browne Toney hit the deck several times and fell very hard too. Just no coordination whatosever. Here, it really was quite good.

I was honestly, quite pleasantly surprised as I myself got quite angry after the Browne fight as I thought he gave it away by being bloated. I see this Toney as being quite sharp, but can he sustain it over ten rounds? I'm not sure, so I would like to see him try. He won his two Prizefighter fights IMO and could easily have taken it. Looking at forums most think Toney deserved to progress.

The journey isn't going to end here, Toney needs to be tested and either he can do it or he can't. Getting the weight down is checked, now he just needs to stay active.
