i still dont get the concept of wanting a fighter to change their style to entertain you. its called boxing. either you like it or you dont. thats like saying i like college football but only when i watch oregon and baylor because they put up a lot of points. anybody else is boring. that means that you dont actually like the sport which is fine but then i say dont come on a boxing message board and complain about it.

I am glad to see that my views are fairly common on this issue. People don't like Ward mainly because he is dull and cheats, and secondarily because he is inactive and won't travel anywhere. It is very hard to enjoy his fights. Until threatened with disqualification he was going to do that hold and wrestle shit all night long. It's no wonder he couldn't fill a barn.

I also think he fights how he does because he knows he is very chinny. It's his shield, but sooner rather than later someones gonna rock him hard, and he will disqualify himself through it as you won't get a second punch on him.

to live boxing I expect some entertainment, there is a saying one mans crap is a other mans
gold.!!!, the fighters you like is to your individual taste.

im saying that you seem like a casual fan of the sport. like i said, if somebody so good who always wins with ease isnt good enough for you then i dont know what to tell you. because i love boxing, i appreciate all styles as long as the fighters who use that style are good. i can obviously say that some fighters are boring because they are C class fighters but when it comes to an A class fighter, i never think that they are boring.

Casual fan am I, facts are I have watched boxing in the 60's with my late father, also my son
has boxed, I have been to many professional and amateur shows trained my son 4 times a
week for about 6 years. I look forward to watching Ward, as much as I look forward to suffering
from piles.

But he has HBO backing so it's irrelevant. He just got $1.9 million for facing a "no-name." He is clearly doing something right. To put that into perspective, Golovkin-Stevens combined purse was $675,000.
