GGG still has alot to prove at 160 like I said before. And people really seem expect so much from Floyd who is a welterweight. I can guarantee if Floyd fought GGG then the bar will raise to him fighting Ward 168 and then Hopkins at a catch weight of 170. GGG should fight Quillin, Barker or even Rubio.

I agree that Golovkin still has many credible opponents at 160 Martinez, Barker/ Sturm winner, Quillin (wouldn't mention Rubio though)

If Mayweather is going to venture to 160 then Martinez is the only opponent he should be targeting!

If those other guys want him they should meet him half way & fight at 160...

You can't duck somebody who is about 3 weights above your natural weight.. It would be ridiculous to call that a duck..

I hold nothing against Floyd if he doesn't fancy a GGG fight..

Agreed. A Martinez fight should be considered over a Golovkin fight.

However, should GGG defeat Martinez & become champion then he would become a legitimate test for Floyd & an enhancement to his legacy

I honestly cannot believe there are STILL people out there that believe what the Mayweather's say.
The excuses not to fight Paquaio are as long as my arm
Floyd said he'd LOVE to go fight in England? He has his chance but where will the fight be if it comes off?? VEGAS Floyd won't fight anywhere else WHY

The argument goes both ways, Pac was afraid of needles too as I remember!

Are you referencing a fight with Khan? The guy shouldn't even be in the running imo

Why-how does Golovkin 'need' Mayweather at this current time He has another top elite champion in the wings in Martinez and that is the bull in the China shop. As far as big event pop or potential in matches its Mayweather who needs him and is in effect playing catch up with "legacy" with youth vs age. Feels like a race. Floyd needs to at least make a solid division move up, minus catchweight bs, before the thought even enters Golovkins head who has a solid and expanding platform and push. By the time this hypothetical happens I think Mayweather would honestly be in deep doo doo.

Agree with both you and Ray. I'd love to see Floyd and GGG at their best weights not exceeding 160 with no weight gains imposed on Floyd. That is not going to happen and I dont expect Floyd to do it. All kinds of safety issues would be raised.

All the junior welts are as big as Floyd so there are still fights at 147 as they begin to move up. Slim pickings mind you. Garcia will have to face the winner of Aydin/Postal.Could be an outside shot for Martinez/Floyd. More chance of that happening then 3G against either one imo. Floyd does not have a lot of stellar fights to choose from after Khan in his weight area.

3G's selection is just as scant. Martinez is not going to fight him so I think people need to move on. Martinez is going to cash out over the next two years.
Rubio is the mandatory for Martinez and I think Martinez will be looking for the winner of Cotto/Alvarez should it get done or come in under the radar and get Cotto. The Wbc will then let Rubio fight for the interim.

Barker has a date with Sturm and then a rematch clause he can execute if he loses so he's kinda busy. There is also a huge middleweight showdown simmering in Britain. Btw that's the fight I want at middle. Barker/3G. Quillin has an upcoming date with Jacobs and my money will be on Danny. Not only that Quillin imo and his people have no interest in facing the Russian. 3G it seems is just to much of a killer for his own good. He's gone and successed himself right out of the big fights. Perhaps if he takes a dive he will be able to get one.

Ward has offered him a fight at 168. He did say he would fight anyone from 154 to 170.
