If I was advising Carl Froch I'd tell him to retire.
You know, sometimes in boxing there are signs when your slipping and this was it for Froch, deep down he knows.
The ref did him a favour.
It's stuff like this which makes me angry as hell with boxing. Again, like in the Mayweather-Canelo fight, the judges scorecards were dubious, only having Groves up by one round
I don't even think Groves was that badly shaken. I just think it was one of them punches which looked worst than what it was, you know the way, his head flung back.
I will say this about Froch. He has got some chin. Wow. He took some huge shots and you can't just keep on taking them.
There will be an immediate rematch. Froch's ego will demand it. He will hear and see the fallout over the next few weeks about how he was lucky and how he was getting beaten. He will hear this over and over again and he will demand rematch but to me it's a fight he can't win, someone needs to tell him.
Froch should just retire. Like when Lewis fought Klitschko, there signs are there. Now it's the time to go otherwise he will end up knocked spark out. You know, if the scenario was the other way and it was Froch who was hurt like Groves was, then I don't think the ref would have stopped it. Froch was far more badly hurt in his knock down in Rnd 1 in than Groves was.
UK refs tend to be quick stoppage refs anyway but this was just crazy. If you saw that in a kids amateur fight, you'd say the ref was premature but in world title fight ? Crazy, just crazy. It was that bad, that disgraceful of a stoppage...that I don't think the world *fix* would be inaccurate. I don't know how Howard Foster will be able to sleep at night. IMO he should never be allowed to ref at world title level again
