Well, he can't move out of the punches as much because he is fat. For good movement you need a good waistline and good hip movement. Ruiz is just too fat to get out of the way... but he has good pop and great speed and a decent chin. He also works the inside better than anyone I have seen in a long while-- partly because he is fat and out of shape in the midsection and he is forced to stay in the pocket and trade.

Ruiz can use a bit more movement. But, it's not his gameplan and he wins without it. So...
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

I might be premature in saying this, but to me Ruiz seems like a poor man's Arreola. I don't buy him as the next big HW sensation.

I don't think anyone has him down as a 'sensation'. His fast hands makes him a good fighter on the inside but his defence is quite poor which hasn't been exposed yet because he's got a decent chin. I think having such a short reach puts him at a bit of a disadvantage too.

Hamer got his purse withheld and dropped by DiBella for quitting.

Andy won't do much IMO people will learn to outbox him and tire him out.

    Ha!

I'd still pay him part of his purse as severance pay to get out of the sport.

Even Yori Boy wasn't that quick to say fuck it in a fight.

Ruiz is super easy to hit. I wasn't too impressed with him.

Hamer is too well educated and wealthy to be a boxer. He doesn't have the heart for it.

I know there are exceptions (Barrera, ect) but a guy like that, as great an athlete as he is, isn't going to have the guts that a street guy like Ruiz jr has.

That notion will always be true.. OF course there are exceptions but generally, one who had a privileded lifetstyle growing up can't succeed inside the ring..

Rich people generally don't have much to be mad about. And, if they get mad, they hire lawyers. They don't fight. That's why they have nice teeth.

Never thought about it, always figured they wanted to be in there or had to be in there.
Hamer is, obviously, not suited for boxing. Everyone knows how much they are willing to take or can take, so good-bye and good luck. Too bad he took someone's place on a PPV.
