But he is. Whether the ref steps in early or late, win, lose or draw, Groves comes out of this smelling of roses because of how he boxed up until the stoppage. Froch however gets booed out of the ring. If the ref lets it go on Froch has a very decent chance of pulling the fight and his reputation out of the fire. Froch is the only loser here.

This is why he was booed. Pretty much the entire arena thought the referee jumped in far too early and Froch saying he agreed with the decision and didn't think Groves had a point is bullshit. If the referee had stopped it in the first Froch would've been pissed and rightly so but he was way more hurt than Groves was in the 9th and the referee didn't even request that Froch walk towards him to confirm he could continue.
