If you're a prospect maybe, but Mares has been established as a top guy, beaten some world class fighters and knows what he can do. It wasn't a brutal KO and he made a pretty amateur mistake by dropping his hand if I remember. Just as much chance he'd lose to another top guy if his head isn't right, whereas reversing the loss will save a tonne of speculation and put him right back at the top. Having said that I don't know whether he will, Gonzales is a terrific offensive fighter and might just be able to get to Mares early again.
