Kind of ironic he'd die in a car crash after becoming famous off his "Fast & Furious" series of movies.

An antismoking campaigner dying or lung cancer is ironic.
A man emersed in a film franchise and culture of driving performance cars dangerously and at excessive speeds dying in a crashed performance car being driven dangerously at excessive speed isn't ironic, it's apt.

Guilty of bad use of language.

"Fitting" maybe would've been better?
