Fact is Rocky was the best at his time , a long time ago.

They had height, but I doubt they any real effective mass to them. Carmine was 189lbs so you're talking about a beanstalk there.

This! That is correct, when we appraise Marciano today we should assess his performance against the cruisers of today or the LHW division. I think too that Rocky would strip to a LHW were he around today.

To compare him to the heavyweights- is totally not fair to today's heavies, not fair to Marciano, but it's also not fair to the cruisers and light heavies today who are dismissed against such an opponent whom they really deserve to be rated with.

Brocktonblockbust has in fact started this thread with exactly my point of view... It doesn't make sense to rate Marciano against the HW's of today. It really is a different class now.

We talk about Rocky's power at heavyweight, but imagine if he could hold his power cutting to 175. He would kill guys.
