Broner is a tough guy. He hits hard n despite his low punch output he almost stopped maidana in the end. He showed a ton of heart n toughness in lasting to the end and should be commended for never quitting despite taking some paralyzing shots.
While his athletic talent and toughness is impressive, he will never be the next Floyd, or anywhere near that level. He doesn't throw enough punches in a consistent manner and tried to hide behind his shoulder too much while being way too stationary for that style. Floyd is multidimensional and uses his feet, arms, shoulders, n head movement for defense. He also slips n counters between punches n that is why he isn't forced into low punch outputs or getting overwhelmed by high volume fighters. He basically slips n counters, moves his feet to set up an angle, pot shots, lands a combo, n then repeats the pattern. Once u slow down even slightly he starts punching holes n walking u into traps. Broner just isn't good enough to replicate that.
