Tito is a legend that defines one dimension but he didn't let it deter him from being a great fighter.
Trinidad fought some great fighters, and fortunately they all possessed a style that fell into his hands at that time. But he was shown to not be invincible against the golden boy, but I actually wanted Trinidad to win that fight, and I was happy he did but I don't know if he "won" now.. but I'm happy that he got the decision![]()
When Trinidad fought the outside fighters like Hopkins and DLH he got shown in different fashions. Even Joppy was giving him trouble before Tito landed that big left hook(s).
What I can't stand is that when he loses people are saying he wasn't a true 160 pounder and etc.
If I remember correctly when he was 160 and beat Joppy everyone was jumping on his bandwagon saying he would even conquer Light Heavyweight, right?
But when Hopkins beats him its "because" Trinidad is really a 147 pounder.
So he just "happened" to knock out 154 and 160 pound fighters by chance?
If you give Trinidad's opponents credit for beating him I don't think you'r get the flack you get.
He IS a great fighter. But eventually that flaw of his came back to haunt him when the opponent didn't let a punch landed.
But you have GOT to give Trinidad credit for it taking that long to happen.
