When Cotto left Arum the fight was made. And I truly believe Arum most of all is the culprit as to why this fight was not made on top of the whole I'm scared of needles thing and then the temporary stadium that was supposed to house the mega event blah blah blah. Arum is running out of milk and is now trying for the last drop vs Mayweather.
Its very easy to understand.
Bob Arum was Floyd's promoter from 1996-2006.
Bob Arum fucked Floyd over. Bob owes him money. He's admitted he owes him money. He has declared that he will not pay him the money owed.
Floyd wanted a guaranteed $20 million to fight Oscar. Bob would not grant that. So Floyd bought his way out of his contract for $750000 signed to fight Oscar under his own promotional name and made himself $30 million.
Now, if you've been fucked over by a former manager would you ever give them the opportunity to make money off you again?
Floyd said he would fight Pac is he left Arum. Floyd guaranteed Manny that he'd be paid more without Arum than he would with him.
We think with enough money on the table, people can and would and should break bread. But often times money isn't the issue- it's about trust and not wanting to do business with a scunt. Arum is a scunt. Period.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!

For starters, it's a well-known fact that fan interest in Floyd-Pac is nowhere as high as it was several years ago. But let's not kid ourselves. Everyone of us would watch if the fight were to happen. But wading through the B.S. and putting things in perspective.... this is the way it should go:
Floyd's claiming he will never do business with Arum. Floyd's job is to fight. He's already got enough money to live 3,000 lifetimes, so money should not be the issue. He'll get his mega-millions for fighting Pac whether it's Arum or Bubbles the chimp doing the promoting. So basically, Floyd needs to STFU.
The biggest obstacle to holding this fight is Richard Schaefer. He's another one who needs to STFU. Criticizing DLH Merry Christmas tweets to Arum is childish, petty, and full of self-interest. It's a well-known fact that Schaefer will do anything to torpedo plans to have this fight. Anything to avoid having Arum benefit from such an event. If that means f*ck the fans, so be it. But who's gonna make Schaefer stick his tongue up his ass? Oscar? Please. The poor guy's got enough problems with his rehab.
So basically, although we as fans shouldn't care whether the fight ever happens or not, the sad fact is we do. We do because we're always there to forgive and forget. Such is our nature. Promoters know this... and take advantage of it. Floyd is sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. By saying he won't do business with Arum, he's basically saying "f*ck the fans", I'll do what I please.
Arum's an old greedy bastard, but IMO is the least guilty of all the parties involved. Floyd and Schaefer need to STFU, and let old Arum and rehab Oscar iron out their differences in peace. Then and only then, might we have a fight we all know should've happened 3-4 years ago..... but will pay big PPV bucks to watch anyway.
Mayweather and Arum have bad blood, and Mayweather won't do business with him. That's Mayweather's right, and honestly I can't fault him. If a guy shortchanged and stole from me, then spent years badmouthing me, calling me a coward, overrated, ect, I wouldn't be too willing to put millions in his bank account.
It's Floyd's show now. Back when this fight mattered, Arum had a lot of bargaining power. Not anymore.
Pac should split with Arum.

Well first off its complete utter bullshit to point out Manny's ppv numbers as a reason not to fight him. Its beyond explanation its so ridiculous. The levels of assinitity (I needed a made up word) for such a claim are off the charts. With the exception of Hatton and Oscar none of Floyds opponents have done close to 1 million ppv buys. Just another reason ppv is plastic. Risk and reward has completely vanished from the land scape. This is where Floyd does more to hurt boxing then anyone has before him regardless of how good he is. He's to big. Yes this is prize fighting but the prize used to be because of the risk or at least part of it was. Manny is still the second best fighter in Floyds comfort zone. Doesn't that mean anything anymore? What sport is this?
Arum was with Floyd for ten years. When the Oscar fight was made Floyd wanted 20 million and Bob said no. Floyd said fk-you and bought out his contract for 750 grand and started promoting himself. He went on to make 30 million against Oscar. Now because of that, Floyd figures he was shorted in previous fights. Fair enough but we can go back as far as guys like Tex Rickard right through to King for the same types of acts committed by promoters and yet in the end save the colour barrier days, the best fought the best. Legacy won out in the end. Today those who want to pursue legacy cant get the fights because they wont sell PPV or are to dangerousIts fking pathetic. Its like a different sport. And I'm not trying to sound arrogant here but for those of you who have grown up with nothing else but this flavour era you will never understand and I kind of feel sorry for you. Its not even about boxing anymore. The sports been TMZ'd, highjacked if you will. If Floyd wanted to get back at Arum he'd demand a 70/30 split along with the overwhelming majority of all other revenue and then beat up his main tit. Get that phantom money back from Bob and belittle his main squeeze no doubt sending him into retirement in the process. Now that's payback.

Floyd did not want to fight Canelo, but after the dismal numbers Showtime (not Floyd said they were making the Canelo fight). Either Floyd, knowing he can't break any records without another big name as the draw, is trying to get as much help as possible or maybe this time if Floyd underperforms, Shiwtime will force him to fight Manny. And we all know that Floyd is doing everything possible to avoid that fight

So we don't get to see the fight because Arum owes Floyd money?
Finish fighting, Floyd. Arum owes you money and you want to get paid? Sue the shit out of him. Use a few of your millions to hire some good lawyers and sue Arum. Meanwhile, make your mega-millions and give fans what they want..... boxing.
