Look this is nuts. It’s like trying to justify Leonard/Duran 1 not happening because Leonard had a hard on for Ray Arcel. Fact of the matter is Floyd could break the ice to benefit all fans with a fight. This impasse is only going to get worse between the rival promoters. Yahoo sports did a story recently on the 25 most powerful people in boxing.
Anybody want to guess where Floyd sits? Y! SPORTS
That’s right folks, right behind Haymon. Now I’m not sure why Lampley is on there as no serious fan can take him serious and the list is a tad geocentric but Floyds rank is still valid. I don’t think he gets away with this if it wasn’t.

Again... is it Floyd's job to complain because Pac only keeps 27% of the purse and Arum gets the rest? No. That's between Pac and Arum. So now we're to believe that Floyd will hold out on fights because he's on this noble crusade against promoter corruption? C'mon. How is wanting to see the best fights available "not having respect for the fighters, families, etc, etc"? It's a pretty far reach, if you ask me. Boxing is a lot more simple when fighters stick to the business at hand..... fighting. Getting a raw deal from "X" or "Y" promoter? Can him... sue him... get rid of him. Others have done it. I'll glad give Floyd credit for a lot of things. Boxing's saviour is not one of them.
Are you guys so stupid that you can't understand what I just wrote? You both seem to think you addressed and rebutted my previous posts but you clearly didn't understand what I was saying.
Floyd isn't on a crusade to fix boxing but his actions while initially intended to benefit him have farther reaching consequences that benefit fighters in the long term. Fewer steroids and more stringent testing will help ensure fighters are safer in the ring. It helps all fighters in the long run. Fighters being in control of their careers instead of having their careers dictated by managers who are corrupt and don't care for the fighters health, welfare, families etc...and who rob them of their purses... That benefits all fighters.
Floyd isn't worried about how much money Pacquioa is getting but he does want people to know that Manny is getting screwed by Arum. 27% is a terrible percentage to be getting for risking your life 3-4 times a year.
All you guys can think about is why YOU don't get to see Manny and Floyd fight. BOO HOO!
...and if you think boxing is a sport first and a business second-- then you're a moron!

No.... just obviously not as jaded as you.
BTW, let me correct you. Boxing is a sport first. If there was no boxing... there'd be no business. Following me so far? Yes... boxing is big business. But it is first and foremost a sport. We don't dole out PPV dollars to watch Floyd, Arum, Golden Boy, or anybody else haggle over multi-million dollar contracts. Well.... at least I don't.
Now, ratchet down your angry little tone.... get yourself a nice, cool drink.... and come back with an answer when you're no longer foaming at the mouth. Ok?

We're boxing fans. What's wrong with that?
You're getting too emotional in your defense of Floyd and bashing of Arum. I'm not bashing Floyd nor am I a Floyd hater. I just think there's too many shenanigans in boxing that prevent the best fights from happening. And when the fighters themselves begin getting into the politics of the sport, it just makes things worse. No one's saying Arum should win a Nobel Peace prize anytime soon. Him and Don King are cut out of the same mold. But they've also done a lot of good for boxing, like them or not. And again... it's up to Pac to stand up for Pac's best interests. Floyd's hate for Arum shouldn't be a part of the equation. You're wrongly belittling fan interest in all this. If we don't demand the best fights take place..... then what's the point in having these fights at all? Who pays all the big bucks the fighters make for their fights? That's right... the FANS.
My bad... You're right. The fighters...those guys that are literally killing themselves for our amusement--shouldn't get involved with the details or politics of the sport. They should just shut up and fight! They're clearly ruining the sport for all us money spending fans.
Whats the point in risking your life if you're giving 73% of your purse away to a fat fucks who have a stranglehold on the sport and don't care how they use or abuse you?
I don't see how you can say you're fan of boxing if knowing that guys are making less than 27% of their purses seems okay to you.
And yes, it makes me emotional to see idiots like you complain about being deprived of fights when you're just siting on your asses complaining about how these guys aren't dying for you the way you want them to.

That's about 3 "idiots" and 2 "morons". I can see you're quite emotional about the subject. First... the fighters who are, (ahem)... "killing themselves for our amusement". A word of advice: Don't watch so many old Roman movies. These are not Christians being thrown to the lions in the Roman Colosseum. These are athletes who chose..... CHOSE.... to pursue what is inherently a dangerous career/ sport. No guns pointed at heads..... no threats if you don't go out there and put on some boxing gloves. No. Free will.
Ok now about the 27% purses. Well.... I don't know about you.... but 27% of $10 million is still a hell of a lot of money. Is it a fair share? Of course the hell not. But what am I going to solve by boycotting a fight because fighter "X" is not getting his fair share? Is that what we should be doing? I don't know. I'm not the emotional one here.
Oh... and about the part about me wanting the fighters to die the way I want them to. I mean.... I don't want to insult you or nothing, but....... Aren't you being a little bit of a drama queen? Seriously.
Anyway, and on a serious note..... weren't you ignoring my posts before? What the fuck made you go back on that? Miss me?

Ok. You're ok with a fighter refusing the best fight available because he can't stand the other guy's promoter. I'm not. Boxing is supposed to be a sport first. A business second. All we need are a few more Floyds to make sure the sport starts grinding to a complete halt.

Whoa! That was a quick retraction.
