Yeh the momentum was def going Hipps direction, I had it 76-76 with him having a solid 9th until he went down. You can say that with the Cooper fight if you ask me. After 1st Hipp literally welded his head to the shorter Coopers chest and they both tee'd off on the body. One right hand shook Hipp and Joe Cortez jumped in all dramatic but made no indication on stoppage. Just stood there pawing Hipps eye until eveyone flooded the ring. Hipp was pissed. All an testament to what a solid time that was for heavyweights, the early 90's was something special and its not been the same since.

Dude should have his own movie. Guilty of mass career sabotage but when he was 'on' he brought a few of the best young talents to the brink of ring Hell. I've changed my mind on Foreman loss..said he quit but Foreman literally almost broke his body in half with a hook in there..now Truth Williams, RIP, ehhh. His cross arm defence was awkward effective at whipping off those hooks too. Half crab-half Fred Sanford

I'd forgotten about the Morrison v Hipp fight. Hipp fought off his front foot a lot, so he was only punching with his arms and shoulders, but he was a real tough guy. I have been to Browning, where he is from, and that is a hard place to grow up. It is no wonder he is so tough.
I have met a few other guys from Browning and they are real tough, too. Browning High School also seems to always have real strong basketball teams.

He was a good, tough contender. Always enjoyed his fights.
