Apparently Geale turned down the monte carlo date with GGG because he wanted them to fight on HBO. GGG has an april date with HBO but HBO have passed on a GGG-Geale showdown and apparently James Kirkland is going to fight GGG. I think GGG-Geale is a better match than a Kirkland one, but no doubt GGG-Kirkland would be fireworks whilst it lasted.
Kudos to Hbo! I mean do we really need to see GGG aginst another B level opponent in geale at this point?

Looking at who GGG has faced id say Geale would be top of the list if they did fight. I think Geale would outbox Macklin.

I agree with that but I dont think Geale is so much better than GGG's past victims. I pretty much put them in the same bracket.

This can't be seen as a step up fight for GGG, that's for sure.

Hes better than Adama, and if the choice is Geale or Kirkland for his next fight I think he should have taken Geale.

Geale is quite a bit better than Kirkland, but neither would have much of a chance against Golovkin imo. People often say "it will be fireworks while it lasts", to describe a mismatch between two action fighters. Would it really be that riveting to see Golovkin beat the hell out of Kirkland just because both have aggressive styles? They are a completely different level of fighter, and I don't think Kirkland has ever fought at 160 to boot.

Kirkland wouldn't take a backwards step and would land a few heavy shots I think. But his aggression would no doubt be his demise as well and he would walk onto shots. But it would be good whilst it lasted.
