Have I missed something here? Broner Chooses rematch with Maidana? Didn't Maidana win the fight (and pretty convincingly too!!!) I reckon it will be Maidana making the choices. Who does Broner think he is? Everybody is telling him to go down a weight and he's not having it. Is it because he's a "mini JCC Jr. ?" by that I mean that he says he's comfortable at this weight just so he doesn't have to do a bit of hard work to fight at the next weight down. If he was honest with himself, he's probably just a lazy, arrogant prick!

Trooos.. Let's not make Maidana out to be some shotcallin megastar just cuz he beat Broner.. IT's not like he's going to get a shot at Floyd next anyways. Who else besides Broner can give him the kind of spotlight and payday..

Broner is still in the position to call the shots. Not Maidana..

Glad to hear, and I think this is a very winnable fight for Broner if he does the right things.

This fight will make or break his career. If you destroys maidana then his credibility will skyrocket, if he even loses by one point to maidana then his career is done and he will drop into journeyman status.

Broner has the tools to win. does he have the heart and mentality to win?

Another loss isnt going to turn him into a journeyman. He's too young for that.. and as far as him having heart, he's shown plenty of it. But does he have the smarts to make adjusments is the real question imo.

I disagree. There are loads of fights out there for Maidana . He's got a world title and plenty of guys would fancy taking that off him and subsequently land themselves a shot at Mayweather. Even guys like Garcia and Matthyse who would see it as a good way to move up and be relevant. The thing is that Maidana probably wouldn't turn anyone down either. I'm not saying he's a great fighter, he probably will lose, but he's gonna make some money. He don't need Broner , and now Broner has lost , he's a little bit harder to market.

He is second in line for a Mayweather fight right now, therefore, even if he doesn't get Mayweather right away, he may get him at the end of the year. In addition, he already beat Broner so why take the risk in fighting him again? On the same note, as much as I want to see a rematch between Garcia and Matthysse, I completely understand why Garcia wouldn't face him again. Would a Paulie fight pay him as much as another Broner fight, or close, with less risk? How about a Porter fight? etc. He's not in the driver's seat, but he's got options.

I think this is posturing. Broner will heed Floyd's advice and drop down to 140.

I don't think it will happen next and frankly I can't see the network going out of their way to push for it immediatly. Broner is close to burning too many bridges. Even if he some how blasted Maidana in 1 round it would say far more to go in and finally display the ability to adjust and stay consistent, be that 'might be, may be, could be' ring technician and offensive savy boxer over the distance that so many thought he'd be. He needs to show that for once, a new mature approach or he'll be back on some shit rap tour driving the bus.

I hate to even try to remotely critique someone on the level of Bronner but everytime I watch him I feel like he doesnt fight to his true style.

What I mean is he has power and throws sharp combos when he does throw them. Instead of using these tools he tries to work off of his defense and and counter punch with one or two punches like PBF for example. Three punches is alot for Bronner.

Even if he had nice tight defense in the philly he needs to open up more. If I was his coach, I would tell him to work off his jab and throw 4-5 punch combos.

Then again, I dont see him in the gym everyday so maybe they see things I dont.

If it happens and Bronner wins we are looking at a nice trilogy.

I dont see broner quite in the power position everyone else sees him in. Its nice to call out someone in a rematch and a lot of people will base this on one fight money possibilities. I want to see if he actually wants to go through with this and is willing to take the short stack for the opportunity to avenge the loss. Or is he just talking and then unwilling to negotiate because he still feels hes the draw. He prices himself out by demanding the lions share then claims maidana doesnt want to fight and claims redemption that way. Might be a bucket of cold water on the people that want to see this happen, but its a definite possibility and has happened before in similar instances.

Anyone remember RJJ's dq loss to Griffith. 2 minutes of listening to Griffith talk afterwards was enough to have Roy telling his lawyer/management to get him the rematch no matter what it costs... and then destroying griffith.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Knowing Bronners extremely egotistical personality, the loss likely burns him bad.

Im thinking he wants more of Maidana asap even if its a bad decision.

Im not saying it is a bad decsion, im just saying he likely wants Maidana at all cost.
