Been awhile since I have posted here...Just want to give my 2 cent on May/Pac

First off...I`m A big fan of both fighter`s,with that being said...It`s very hard for me to believe that anyone would think that either of these Two are "scared" of One another..Silly really...Mayweather is A absolute Boxing prodigy..Maybe the very best to ever enter A Boxing ring,if he is not he is certainly in the discussion, has been fighting his entire life, has fought, smaller, bigger, faster, stronger, longer, talle r...and has seen it all...Absolute dedicated student of the game....

Pac,is A pure fighter from the top of his head,to the bottom of his toes, and comes from A place where he(Pac)would probably fight A world class opponent every week if HBO would pay him..Pac has been fighting like Mayweather since he was A Kid,..and is A Great fighter in his own right...Point is...They are not afraid of each other.....For those who say Mayweather is scared to lose his "0"...That tells me you are A novice fight fan,who has not watched enough Boxing to know that.....Boxing is not pre-scripted..Too many huge upsets to even list...Mayweather could have lost to any One of his opponents...Moseley could have KO`d him when they fought,..Canelo with his size advantage could have done the same,or Corrales, who was A murderous puncher @130...Point is neither One is "Scared" of the other...When A big fight like this does not take place there are reasons for it,and the reason for this fight not happening is simple....Bob Arum...

It is no secret that Bob used to promote Mayweather, and DelaHoya, during that time Arum had A huge stable of well paid fighter`s,but that was not to last,Oscar flew the ship, huge Cash Cow gone there, and then Mayweather in the smartest move he ever made, bought out his contract, and then the Two went on to have the biggest PPV in history...without Uncle Bob....Arum latched onto Pac and turned him into A huge PPV attraction...Makeing tons of money fighting all the fighter`s in the Top Rank stable...In house Money, nothing new there...Arum absolutely despises Oscar and Floyd, and after promoting Mayweather as long as he did,Arum knows better than anybody else, that the One fighter in the entire sport of Boxing that is capable of beating A world class fighter like Pac,with the type of dominateing myth busting Ass whupping is Mayweather, who uses none other then Oscar DelaHoya as his promoter...Now why would Arum want to risk his Money Maker by sacrificeing him to Oscar and Floyd..?

Answer,...He would`nt,and so he did what any promoter would do,he built Pac up against his own fighter`s and kept the Money in house...As of now,..Pac has exhausted all of his options, and provided some great fight`s along the way...At this point it is very clear...Arum is ready to cash out with Pac,it`s been A hell of A run...So know Pac is willing to take drug test, when he had every excuse in the book to not take them before,we are not hearing any Bullshit about temporary outdoor stadiums or the rest of the excuses Arum has made on Pac`s behalf...Pac and Arum need Mayweather at this point...Pac`s PPv numbers in his last fight put the writeing on the wall....And,..as A added bonus...Look what Arum has done to his Prized Fighter...Pac`s Bank account`s frozen in his own Country,Tax Dog`s here in the States barking up his tree..?....Really Sad...Arum should be very ashamed of how he has cheated Pac....I understand why the fight has not happenned...and it is not because they fear each other...

1st off I'm a huge maywather fan I truly believe he's the best ever. Saying that i think he needs the pacman fight more than pacman needs it, if mayweather doesn't fight him, that's what everyone is going to remember him for and now pacmans willing to jump through hoops to make this fight, if it don't happen it does look like floyds ducking him. Floyds says he's all about making that money, so if that's the case fight pacman and make a record high payday, who gives a shit if arum gets a piece of the pie.

Well, he's not...and you're obviously a young dude to make such a statement, probably an American.

He's a very good defensive boxer, one of the best defensive boxers there's been.

But if you're talking best fighter all-time, he's not that all.

I'm 32 and from Scotland of course it's only my opinion but I believe he's the best boxer I've ever seen.

It's too late for this fight anyway, neither of these guys are at their best anymore.
    The moment has been missed.

Anyone that's followed their careers KNOWS neither of these guys are what they used to be.
Look at some old highlights for comparison to now, for $#!t's sakes!
They're still both very good, but they ain't prime anymore, and once it's gone, it's gone for good.

Negotiations began in late 2009, over 4 years ago.
30 year old Pacquiao had leveled Hatton in May, 2009.
32 year old Mayweather had outboxed Marquez in Sept, 2009.

They both were still at their very best.
    Just a terrific dream match-up.

By 2011, Pacquiao and Floyd were both showing signs of being just a bit past their peaks.

Now Pacquiao is 35, quite old for his style of fighting.
Mayweather will be 37 in a few weeks, and he's getting hit more than he used to, and doesn't have the legs he once did.
If the fight happens now, it'd just be a ripoff and a cheat on the fans. I wouldn't pay for it, not anymore. Those f*<kers running boxing have played with us too long with this fictitious fight...

F*<k that fight, that fight can go f*<k itself, that fight can go to hell now 'cause it's too late...

This fight is beyond its significance . I has no more meaning just a fight to witness now.

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao said he didn’t mind being called a “desperate dog” by Floyd Mayweather Jr. who has continued to distance himself from a lucrative mega bout with the Filipino boxing star.

In a report by Philboxing’s Eddie Alinea, Pacquiao said he rather be called a desperate dog chasing for a bone “than a dog running with its tail wrapped between his legs in utter show of fear.”

The fighting congressman is proud to say that he doesn’t run away from fight, unlike his American counterpart, who is known to cherry pick his opponents.

“At least I look for more fights, I don’t run away from them,” said the 35-year-old General Santos native.

Pacquiao said he is always willing to face Mayweather in the ring, but he cited that the latter seems to come up with a gamut of excuses.

Mayweather’s latest demand is for the Filipino boxer to break ties with Top Rank Inc.’s Bob Arum, who has promoted the American boxer in the past.

“He’s been asking for so many conditions which we have expressed intentions to abide by like drug testing, purse split and everything,’ said an exasperated Pacquiao. “Now he wants me to separate myself from my promoter which I cannot possibly do without violating my contract.”

Pacquiao said he prefers to concentrate on his upcoming fight rather than challenge an opponent who refuses to fight.

“He really looks like he does not want to fight me, so, I think there’s nothing we can do about it already,” he said. “Let’s forget about the Mayweather fight for the meantime.”

Believe what you want,...Mayweather is already considered Great, and if he finishes undefeated,..with or without Pac,he will be mentioned amoung the Greatest fighter`s ever..Not just gonna repeat all that I said earlier....Teddy Atlas has been in the game as long as anyone,...ask him why this fight has not happenned..and he will tell you Arum....Mayweather has no reason to fear Pac,...if you think he does your knowledge of Boxing is still in the amateurs...Mayweather knows, just like Pac does,..that his legacy is not,and will not be defined by One fight...Every fighter in the HOF has someone they did`nt fight,or someone they did fight that was way past their prime....For some,it will never matter what Floyd does,..if he beat Pac`s Ass right now, those people would say Pac was shot, and Mayweather waited for that to happen...Like I said earlier, and if you know anything about the sport of Boxing,..you already know...A fighter can lose any fight...The fear of losing exist in every fighter,in every fight....Pac included..

There is a video in this thread in which Floyd says he doesnt want to fight Pac because he is afraid for his health. He says its because of the PED's but nonetheless he admits he is afraid to fight him.

Its come to the point now where there is no question Floyd doesnt want to fight him. He said it and his dad said it. Even his dad said "Im afraid for my sons health if he fights that little man". So thats no longer in question. We are just here to ponder what is really going on behind the scenes. Maybe they are just trying to hype it back up? Who knows.

And your right if he does beat Pac people will say he waited till Pac was washed up.

I believe that video is old,..If I`m not mistaken..Back when Mayweather was convinced Pac was on Drug`s,...Pac is desperate for A Mayweather fight,..pure and simple..And I just watched A video interview with Roach,..Talking about how Ariza is A shady character, and that he would give Manny shakes everyday, and would not tell him what was in them..?...unbelievable....Anyone who would buy that line of bullshit is insane...Roach is trying to cover his own ass...How could he sit there and say he did not know what Ariza was giveing Pac...I like Pac,..but I believe he has been juiceing up until recently...

Your crazy if you think Floyd isnt afraid to lose his "0". Of course all the other fighters you mentioned had a chance to KO Floyd. But none really had the total package to actually out box Floyd.

Im not saying Pac can out box Floyd, im saying that if anyone can its him. His speed, footwork, volume of punches, punch selection and etc is unlike anything Floyd has seen.

I dont neccessarily disagree with everything else you said, but I definately disagree with that.

Its at least one of the main reasons this fight hasnt happened if not the main reason imo.

Even Floyd himself is saying he dont want to fight Pac because his health is more important. He says with Pacs PED use there is no reason for him to fight him and risk injury. Thats a bull shit excuse that covers up the real reason.... Hes afraid. Afraid to lose that "0".

The only other possibility is Floyd is telling the truth about why he doesnt want to fight Pac. And if thats the case I take my hate off to him for his honesty but I still think he handled it badly with all his accusations, even if they are true.

He would have been better to just let it not happen without all that so he wouldnt look like a pre-madonna. If Pac would have started in first with calling Floyd out then call him out on it. The way Floyd handled it tho makes him look like a pre-madonna and kinda scared. Made it look more like he is just coming up with excuses.
