Thoughts??? Lara vs Thurman

If I was Thurman I wouldn't take that fight. He should stay at WW, there are a lot of potential big money bouts there (including the Mayweather jackpot as a possibility down the road if he keeps winning).

And if he was inclined to go to 154, Lara is the last guy he should fight. I'm not saying Thurman can't beat him, but Lara is the kind of guy that you're not going to look good against. Thurman is hot right now, the last thing he needs is to move up and fight a guy like Lara.

Absolutely agree with this post. There is "cherry picking" and there is "defensive driving". Staying away from a ring date with Lara is "defensive driving".
Lara is another guy like Rigondeaux. He is very, very good at what he does and it's very, very hard to look good against either one.
Why the hell would he want to go up in weight and face a puzzle like Lara? Pretty damn stupid in my opinion.

Thurman would have to be crazy stupid to face lara cuz im sure he would get owned.. the risk outweighs the reward anyways and it's not worth it.. and plus, any fight involving lara is far from exciting and this fight getting add to the event doesnt do much for me..

And another thing..both these guys dont have the highest workrate and shit would be boring.

Thurman needs to stay at welterweight but if all roads are closed at this weight he would have more chance against Cotto/Saul.
