Default One Of My Favorite Fights

Del Flanagan vs Sandy Saddler. One of my best friends was managed by a guy that managed Flanagan and his brother Glen. Del fights a brilliant fight here, real clever.

I think that Flanagan was able to stick to his plan, where Pep wasn't, was because Del was bigger and stronger than Pep. So Saddler, a real rough fighter, couldn't manhandle him in the clinches like he could Pep.

At about 730 of part 2/4, I'm pretty sure Sandy Saddler hits himself in the head in a clinch with Flanagan.

Was Sandy past his best by then too?

He went 27-8 after that, beating Willie Pep and Lauro Salas among others.

Losing 8 would be a disaster today and signs he should call it a day. How times have changed.
